Indeed. I was using the illustration to point out that the northern MSU hasn't beaten anyone that is noteworthy but yeah, FSU is undefeated.

I hope we pull it off but Mariota(however you spell it) will run all over us for the first 2 or 3 quarters.

I like having 25 days to prepare for their offensive tempo and Saban not having 25 days to prepare for us.

I'll be interested to see how he does throwing against our DBs. I saw at least 3 dropped interceptions in PAC12 championship game from him. And these are the pass defenses he has faced:
    5fca0b18a44d7f93aa7405c1976a9588_a5afa2b8c94d2540b7084dba25fa2608389fb131.jpg

I'll give him credit that they destroyed Stanford but the next highest rank is still in the 80s. Also think this is the real reason he is winning Heisman.

Also I like Jameis getting to face the 114th ranked pass defense. Maybe he won't have to force so many passes into tiny windows or they won't capitalize when he does.

I had no idea how piss poor the pass defense was in the PAC12. That's pathetic.

I was picking Oregon to win, but now.......

If FSU can pull one more rabbit out of the hat . This one will be on the arm of the QB.

Overall defense isn't much better either,

    Standford 5th
    USC 66th
    UCLA 68th
    UTAH 73rd
    Washington 74th
    Oregon St 76th
    Arizona St 84th
    Washington St 96th
    Arizona 101st
    Colorado 110th
    Cal 121st

Compare that to defenses FSU has faced this year:

    Clemson 1st
    Lousiville 6th
    Florida 9th
    BC 12th
    Miami 14th
    Virginia 30th
    Wake 41st
    NCST 49th
    GT 63rd
    ND 69th
    Oregon 80th
    Okie St 93rd

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Can you explain how Oregon is ranked two different places in your list? Also, you understand that our starting defense hasn't played the fourth quarter except for 4 games this year? Also, oregon has a habit of getting so far ahead, teams have to pass to stay with them.

Please, go look at yards per pass defense, yards per play, amount of plays defended. You'll find a whole different set of statistics.

I've still got Oregon winning and here's why...
These two phenomena might actually go together. Good qbs + good wide receivers = crappy pass defensive stats.
He'll need help. Jameis can't afford to throw any picks all game and Dalvin Cook will need to play the game of his life. If FSU can't find a way to go score for score, it'll be a long game for y'all.

I think FSU & The O will be a better game to watch then Bama & Ohio.. It will be a dog fight.. The winner will be by 7 points or less..

Or is it terrible pass defenses make for "good QBs" and WRs?

One is pass defense and the other is overall defense… reading is your friend bud.

I understand stats get skewed based on who plays. Your argument about Oregon getting so far ahead is counter productive to your point though. That should help your overall defensive ranking as if teams are just throwing the ball your D should be able to stop it.

You mean good qbs + terrible dbs = crappy pass defensive stats.

I agree though Jameis will need help. He won't win this game by himself. Don't agree to the extent you think but a good game from Cook and a few defensive stops and I think we take this one.

I never said the Pac-12 defenses are phenomenally talented, I'm just saying it's a league built on pass offense, thus the stats for defenses are going to be absolutely terrible.

FSU barely escaped GT with Winston's best performance of the year, Oregon is much better than GT. I'm not sure that FSU will get a few defensive stops.

25 days to finally get healthy is something we have needed all season. Our defense has been missing so many key players that will hopefully be ready to go by Jan. 1st. Also as I stated earlier I think our DBs capitalize on some of those errant passes that the Zona DBs failed to.

I also think the battle down in the trenches will be critical in deciding the winner.
