    Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
    Basically CO doesn't recognize my CCW from VA. I'm bringing my gun regardless. What are the provisions for loaded pistols in my truck and open carry of a fire arm... I think I found a decent page with info but would rather check with you local folks.

    I have a FL resident one but it's probably not good idea to rely on since I'm now a VA resident. Need to get it swapped over.

    You should still be good with your FL one. The VA one is pretty good in comparison to other states but UT and FL are the shit. I should just apply for my UT now and then not worry about it since I can have both VA resident and UT nonresident.

    A small handful of select mods.
    Assuming local laws apply to out of state folks passing through open carry is acceptable in most places although not widely practiced. I carry a loaded and secured gun next to my right leg in my truck. But my knowledge of this subject is not deep enough yet. I will ask more about this on Saturday in our class.

    Huge thanks. It seems like CO is good for loaded pistols in the vehicle. Open carry seems good everywhere but denver.

    If I can get off my ass and get my UT CCW it won't matter as they have reciprocity with CO so I would be covered. I just need to become a cop for that 50 state badass permit.

    I was planning a trip out to this part of the country in spring .... Then I took a second and third look at this meet up and decided I'm very interested .... I would like to leave on the 23rd (Saturday) leave early , take some time , get there early to re-coup, get the shit together relaxingly ... Instead of last minute panic modes.
    If anyone is interested in forming a 2-3-4 vehicle trip out ... That would be cool.
    Maybe hit a trail or two on the way .... At any rate it's Always more safe and secure in numbers ... Not to Mention more Fun !
    I'm starting the planning now .... Slow but sure ... Easy Does It !
    This will be my first trip out west since I became old enough to drive .... I'm excited !

    Utah is another open carry...

    in CO you can conceal a loaded handgun in your vehicle if it's for protection basically...they prefer you to have them in the open, but there is a clause that allows them to be concealed and loaded...not all states accept this version though..in uncertain states, I remove the clip and keep both in the center console...but most states around the rockies are open carry..

    As good as VA is, reciprocity could cause you to take a HUGE detour around a western state to avoid potential problems. I was rather surprised.

    On the Utah open carry subject (outside the vehicle), last I researched, if you have a ccw recognized by Utah, you may open carry with loaded mag and round in the chamber. If you do NOT have a ccw recognized by Utah, you may open carry with a loaded mag, however you cannot have a round chambered.
