So Im hopefully going to finally get my sliders welded on tomorrow. I had a question. Right now, my truck probably sits 1/2" higher in the rear. I might get spindles in the future so my truck might end up being 1/2" or so higher in the front. So an inch difference. If I weld them on right now, do they get welded on parallel with the frame? of the body? Or is it the same? Is the body always going to be parallel with the frame whenever I do suspension changes?

Do yall get what Im saying? I dont want the sliders to end up being not parallel with the body and look off.

I imagine if you weld them even with the frame it would be alright. I wouldnt think you would want them not paralell with the frame, I think that would look off, if this is what you are saying.

After knocking some sense into me I realized that the frame and body will always be parallel unless you do something like a body lift. Correct?

When the guy mocks them up he should do this for a good install......I use 2 jack stands and a plastic crate in the center with pieces of metal plate for spacers to get the angle so there is 1" - 1-1/4" between the outer bar & door when the door is open. The inner bar should go directly under the pinch weld with about that same 1" - 1-1/4" between the pinch weld and the tube. That's how I get my angle. Any closer is too close.

Thanks a lot. i get what your saying. but where is the pinch weld? When you say inner bar do you mean the leg?

There are frame plates, inner and outer bar (on the sliders) , and then the legs. The pinch weld is the lip on the rocker that's spot welded together. Have him get the gap between the inner slider tube and the truck (pinch weld on body) correct, don't worry about the frame, once the sliders are sitting nicely with the body, then the frame end of the legs get cut to the right angle and length. Not the notched end (slider end)

Don't let this guy mount them any closer than 1" to the body. (rocker panel) You basically want them sitting how you like them when looking at them, and make sure the doors clear them with at least that 1" I like. I've heard about people's that were mounted a 1/4" from the body and they rub and make noise...no bueno.

Yea I know a guy on here that had them mounted too close and he ended up cutting off some of the body at the bottom. If you lived closer to me I would have you do them for me! :(
