So solid motor and trans mounts.....

I bought the Trail Gear bomb proof mounts for my 2.7L and Im thinking about replacing my transmission mount with the 4x4 innovations solid trans mount. Are there any draw backs to this? Am I going to cause issues with something else since these will be solid and wont give much if at all?

Ive heard that if I install one but not the other the vibration can rip the other mount since one is solid and one has play in it.

Does anyone have experience with header collector gaskets? I have a terrible exhaust leak at the collector gasket, to the point where I'm about to weld it shut... I replaced it with new felt gaskets, still leaking. Heard that you can soak them in hot water for a while then install... also read that aluminum gaskets were the way to go
anyone have any first hand experience?
nothing worse than an exhaust leak clacking through the window

Yes you have too and should do both.

I did this to my v6. It adds vibrations at idle but I don't even notice it anymore. Barely noticed it to begin with. Made my clutch grab way harder. But I didn't notice anything crazy butt Dyno wise.

    Either way. Gotta do both.

They aren't true solid mounts anyways, still ha e poly bushings in both but they are better then the stock ones.

    LOL
ive went over and over all the options in my head, it went from TTB beams, to centermount and custom diff/cvs, to just putting a different diff in with my current setup, and i just cant justify the amount of money it would cost.
which is why im buying an SR1 Rhino so i can have my go fast and fuck shit up rig, and then i will solid axle swap my truck for crawling....
when i did mine i noticed a HUGE difference. like it was riciculous, truck was 10x more responsive, and it was faster. damit i dont know how and i feel stupid saying that. but it definitely was. my old motor mounts were so toast my engine would basically bounce around. even though the mounts werent broken, they were just WAY too worn in.

    That works too haha

My stock ones where still in great shape. Only 115k on them probably. So I didn't notice a huge difference. Also didn't notice a big difference when I did steering rack bushings.
