Go to the Toyota Web site and email them " I want to buy a vehicle that needs frame repair and I live on KY. If I buy it will you replace the frame?? " And see what they say...

Haha, point taken! At this stage, I wish the truck would just catch on fire and burn to the ground. I get more disgusted everytime I drive the damn thing.

Now, Now. Patience. Get the Frame Changed. Sell it. Then buy a six pack and a Tacoma plastic model - and burn it in effigy while you drink your beers and count your money.

As the Old buzzard said as he sat on the tree branch overhanging the road ..."Patience my Ass. I'm gonna kill someone.... "

You are right sir, patience is a virtue! I talked to Crestmont Toyota in NJ last Friday, and the service manager said hang on to it for now. He said the campaign could possibly be expanded to include vehicles in "non cold climate" states. I tiold him I guess Toyota doesn't realize people actually move from state to state occasionally, especially military members!

Great point. I'm SURE that Toyota Corporate would not want it believed that it is punitive to American Veterans. I'd hold that in my back pocket and pull it out if they eventually balk.

Do they do the rear leafs on all the ones they replace frames on? if so that would be awesome. Mine are in horrible shape.

I am awaiting the new frame for mine. He told me if I wanted anything else replaced to get the parts and they would install them for free if the part has to be removed, or at a reduced labor rate since everything is already torn apart. So I'm having them replace the following:

    - Shocks (Bilstein 5100)
    - Wheel Bearing and hub assemblies (mine are currently the original ones)
    - UCA bushings
    - upper ball joints
    - water pump
    - serpentine belt
    - tranny fluid

The service rep told me they replace the LCA but not the ball joints. I looked at the part number for the LCA they have listed on the recall and it's the LCA assembly unit containing bushings and lower ball joints. Can somebody who has had this done confirm this?

I posted #544 when mine got done--my repair sheet only listed "arm sub-assy" - I'll try to post a close up of what the front end looks like.

My new frame has the 4 leaf back. They don't make the 3 anymore, and the recall notice is out!

Oh man this thread worries me, I'm not in one of the states that Toyota is addressing, but I drive on probably one of the saltiest roads in NC almost everyday. I should probably start looking around on the underside of my truck for some issues :(

Check next to the Cat/frame area. IT might be on the passenger's side for the I4

Just heard from my rep. My frame is being built, told me should be getting it in about 4 weeks.
Received notice about spring recall the other day

Can you confirm that the lower control arm bushings and lower ball joint were installed with the lower control arm? I am awaiting delivery of my frame and I'm intending to have quite a few components replaced including control arm bushings and ball joints, but don't want to purchase the lowers if they're included with the frame swap. Thanks.

From the way the rest of that truck looks, id say those are brand new lca's. They're not going to waste time, or even try to use the old bushings/bj. Its impossible to get the bushings out anyways without destroying them
