I think the V6 will get around 25 mpg highway. That to me is really good if they can do it without crap like turbos and more parts to fail.

    Yes you do!
Think of it like Star Wars: 1st gens were the original episodes 4-6, the second gens fall under the newer episodes 1-3, and now the 3rd gens will be like the new episode 7. Controversial, yet the wait is excited and no one knows what it will bring.

If we are saying that the Ram get's its estimated 25 and Colorado gets it's estimated 26, I think the Tacoma should have no problem getting 25. I get that out of mine if I try painfully hard so hitting 30 (stock) should be doable.

This is all for the v6 4x2. Of course the 4x4 will be less.

Any concerning Ram's 28MPG diesel option... That is 10% higher than its gas options and diesel costs 10%-20% more than gas, which makes it a wash, AND that option is thousands more. I will have none of that.

Are those HWY numbers or average MPGs? I don't follow truck news anymore..

I was getting 21-23 average with my DCSB I4 Prerunner with 245/75/16 Dunlop OEMs, I'd think for the V6 to realistically get that number they'd have to either cut a lot of weight or more efficient engine. If that's attainable, though, I'd think the I4 would be closer to my highway MPG of 26-28 if not more, which again, is most likely from weight reduction than making the I4 more efficient without robbing the minimal power it has in my cab configuration. Or a combo with a new transmission that helps one or both of those make more efficient MPG numbers.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I have, and it's a shame that Toyota has fallen so far behind in technology. The Tacoma is one of their top best sellers and profits, you'd think they'd have more pride in it and keep it modern. I love my Tacoma, had both a 2nd and 1st gen, they both rock but the 2nd gen was disappointing in the mileage department, even for a 4 cylinder. V8 trucks are getting the same or better mileage than the 4 cylinder did. I know Toyota can do better than they are right now.

I'm very excited to see what the 3rd gen has to offer, may be looking into one in a few years if I can just buy it straight out, don't want to let go of my 2004 anytime soon!
