dabbled a bit in colorefx.. feeling a bit meh about it. oh well. I dont like to re edit old pics, generally, so I will take this as a memento of progress.

What would you all think of a few of us doing a photo swap and showing how we would edit it? Like the editing challenge except not a challenge. Maybe two or three people would want to participate and we can all edit each other's photos for a fresh perspective. Just an idea! Obviously there would/should be no photo stealing ha

That's why I started the edit challenge. I think it's fasinating how big a difference it can be from just editing.

edit challenge would be ok, if RAW was used, not jpeg.

    Not everyone can shoot raw.

Out of curiosity, why would you want to limit it to just raw?

Awesome, thanks for the tips! I already kinda do most of those, but was shooting in shutter priority. I tried a few tonight with full manual, so we'll see how those turn out!
Should be posting some of them tonight...

better result. jpeg is already compressed. consumer cameras these days dont output RAW files? or would the pictures also come from phones and point and shoots?

A lot of P&S cameras don't support raw but to be honest, a JPEG isn't all that bad to work with-I've lifted a few images off the page when I've wanted to show something. It's not perfect but it does work.

If you link to a full res image, you could always put the raw file on dropbox if you really wanted to.

Manual is the way to go on that. It is going to be a lot easier on you in post. In shutter priority your aperture is going to possibly change over the pano.

I almost always just know which I like better when flipping between color and b&w. This one is stumping me. Each time I feel like I've decided which to stick with I start swaying myself toward the other ha

Also, I love this little Ricoh GR I'm testing out at super high ISOs. The noise is really appealing to me. Almost filmic. This is at ISO 8000 with noise added in LR5 at 24.

EDIT: If anyone looks at the Exif it's going to look a little funny to you. I'm testing this cameras high ISO look/feel right now so when this guy walked in a quick cranked up my shutter speed in order to get the ISO up there to 8000. I'm aware I could have shot it at 1/60th or 1/125th and had a much cleaner file haha I'm specifically checking out the gritty high ISO qualities of this camera :) Feel free to critique!

If anyone would care to show how they would edit it, go ahead.

I think we were overthinking the whole editing thing ha it doesn't have to be official with official rules. Just post up a photo if you're comfortable with others editing it. Then they will if they have time or want to ha. No need for restrictions.

Yeah I'm seeing that mainly with the sunset panoramas that I tried to take a few days ago, like this one. I had to deal with some lines in the stitched pano and I was too lazy to go back and re-edit the input images, so I just worked around it if I could...

But for the ones that I took in the daylight the exposures were all pretty similar so I didn't really have that issue.

These were taken up at Cajas National Park near Cuenca, Ecuador, by the way.

I like the B&W better. Might try an edit on this one for you.

Have at it. It's basically a real world test shot. Nothing important :p

    Sorry i missed this Kevin.

But Ian and murph covered it pretty well.

I also almost always shoot vertical for mine now instead of horizontal.
