Hahah thanks, but no way, your truck is dope! My truck was in near perfect and bone stock condition before I started to mod it, I suppose that's why it is so clean, And I also take good care of it!

Suggestion, some $40 clear headlight housings from ebay will make such a big difference to the front end! White trucks always look clean it's all about the details.

Very nice build sir. Im in limbo about another bumper. I had a relentless on my DC. Im curious on the D ring mounts. Do you think you could tow front those locations?

 

In the rear? I would say so, they are giant, as long as you have strong welds. I have the hidden hitch behind the license plate so I'm sure that would be find to tow from also if you installed a hitch with d ring while offroad.

 

Sorry I should have been more detailed. I'm talking about the front. Like if i was to tow it behind another truck or the RV. Most tow bar mounts bolt directly in to the factory hook.

plus..i have the triple stick for you..granted i think your tcase is an electric one and not a J shift so might not be an option for you. But whatever.

I thought I replied my bad, thanks for that link I wasn't seeing That on the low range site...as for the triple shifter that's freaking cool, I was bummed I was going to be loosing a cup holder. I'm not sure what you mean about my tcase? The front 4wd accuator is a button on the shifter yes but the shifter itself is not a J shift it's a straight shot from Hi to Lo. Does That mean I can't use the triple set up? Would I be able to if I replaced the the chain drive case with an older gear driven one?

Yea so your T case is an electric shift one. That what the button is for. So you can't do the triple sticks. You'd need a J shift one, in other words, a fully manual one.

It is common for people with J shifts to put twin sticks in them so they can have 2wd Lo. Twin sticks means that they can shift the low range with one stick and 4wd with the other.

triples means one stick for 4wd, one for stock t case low, and one for second t case low.

As far as i know...you won't really be able to use the triples since 4wd for you is done with an electric actuator.

BUT

that said, you could make a custom twin stick setup and relocate the switch easily.

OR

find a J shift tcase.

yes, you could get the the gear driven case setup that TG just released. But, i have not read into it enough yet so i can't totally advise that would be a better option for out stock IFS rigs. It seems it is more aimed at SAS trucks...but i haven't had time to really look into it. the TG setup is an all gear setup though so shifting on the fly is lost into 4wd. But it should be stronger then the chain drive case. But i doubt you'll have issues with tcase strength. CVs and and your front diff will break before the Tcase does.

 

I have a stock auto tranny with a tcase out of a mini truck on the side of my house, would That be a j shift case? If I were to put a j shift case in and get that triple stick That would eliminate the switch or no?

a mini truck tcase is different...in fact..i am almost 100% positive its a right hand tcase, not a lefty like the tacoma.

 

The case is right hand drop yes but isn't it just the reduction box in between the case and tranny that I would be adding? That is the part that shifts and I will retain my passenger drop case. Or am I confused haha, well I think I am confused that's why I'm asking

 

well, yes. The low range reduction box is before the T case.

however...while im not 100% certain.. i think you can bolt a mini truck gear box with the right adapter stuff to the tacoma reduction box. I know the gearing is similar to the tacomas so you'd have two boxes with 2.28 gears in them or close. still make it slow as hell. just not as slow as the 4.7 taco box. But i know you can change gears in the box if you want too.

The kit you posted in the daily thread could very well be the kit you need. I can't remember. Didn't realize that was your plan for a second case.

But adding the mini truck gear box won't add the J shift so if you do that, you'll still have your normal shifter and the push button shifter and it'll have to go in a cup holder.
