Looks like I'm going to close up shop soon. I might move to Minnesota. There are a lot more jobs available up there and business is terrible down here.

I probably won't have a shop for a while so I'm going to get out of all that. Probably have to cancel the skid plate order too.

I applied to a couple badass jobs I think I'm qualified for in Minneapolis and hope to hear something. 60k a year I could use!

Finish what you started at ISU. It opens up a lot of options that "the man" only opens up for four year graduates regardless of your experience. If a potential employer is looking at resumes with identical experience but different schooling they are going to hire the graduate. Credit transfers never work out in your favor when entering a different school or program if that is what you have in your back pocket. I don't mean to preach but I have been there before.

That ship has already sailed and I hopped off long ago. It was a waste of time and money for me and I'm not putting any more in. I didn't put in the proper effort in the beginning. Got side tracked working, then running a business, and never focused on school. I should've pulled the plug long ago, but didn't want to disappoint my family. Now that I got that out of the way, which went much smoother than expected, I can move on with my life. Getting out of the college town and into a professional area is my first step. I have my associate's to aid me right now and plan to get a CWI certification later on for a career boost.

Yes. I applied at a place I used to work at in Urbandale which I could get pretty easily but they said they don't know when they will actually fill the position, but otherwise there are only a handful of jobs available and I've already already applied for them and didn't hear anything.

Minneapolis has a good selection of jobs and I can live at my brother's house for cheap rent for a while. Wages are higher and most are large businesses with growth opportunities. My parents are moving out of Iowa in the spring and that's the last tie I have to Iowa, besides you guys. My roommate is moving to California so I'm going to take this opportunity to move out too.

My goal for the future is ultimately buy a fabrication business in Minnesota, so I see this as an opportunity to network, learn the markets, stash some money away, etc. I have a business picked out and was considering, but I just can't swing it right now.
