Yes, Utah liquor laws suck. You have to buy anything over 3.2% at a liquor store, the closest one to area BFE is about 15 miles away here: 55 West 200 South, Moab, UT 84532. They have a pretty good selection of beer there, but it is not kept cold so bring lots of ice and prepare to wait a bit until it's at a drinkable temp.

Utah's gun laws are pretty lax. They are the most gun pro state in the nation. If you have a Utah CWP you can open or conceal carry in an Elementary (or any other public school) if you want and the school can't stop you.

Their alcohol laws are pretty strict though...

Mormons control the state and have always been very pro gun thanks to John Browning, but are very anti-alcohol...

Correct. I actually really like the Utah liquor stores. All beers are sold individually, so you can make your own mix and match. 3, 7, 13 beers, doesn't matter. The hours are weird though, closes at like 7 I think.

Generally anywhere outside of city limits, on public land is ok including B.L.M., State and County lands and Forest Service areas. It's all pretty much public land out there so just pick a safe spot and follow these guidelines:

I love Utah but their beer and booze laws suck. If I can't buy whisky @ 6a on a Sunday I'm counting the days before I get back home.

Hmm... I have a few toys that would be fun to bring along. Do I bring the 15" 357mag, or the AR10? Too many decisions. :D

Bring your own keg. Not only is Utah beer 3.2% or less but, kegs are no bigger than 2 liters in size.
