So if you check my signature, ive done a few work to my 2013 tacoma.
(husky mud guards, max all weather floormats, dynomax ST muffler, AVS in channel visor, morimoto mini h1 retrofit 5000k with orbit shroud and Denso OEM ballasts, 17x9 Pro Comp 7032 Wheels, 265/70/17 General Grabber AT2 Tires, OEM roof rack, OEM bed mat, Extang Trifold Tonneau, PL5500 Pop&Lock Tailgate Lock).

Love this truck, only thing i would change is probably get the 4x4 v6. But not enough for me to change.

I get a call from my original Toyota dealership and she said they are out of pre owned tacomas and would like to get mine and he can get me a 2015 tacoma double cab like mine and 4x4 for almost the same payments. I have 66months left and that will not change also. No extra down, or anything.

I know Tacomas have great resale value, but as much as i like this toyota dealership, i know somehow they are out to get you. Nothing to lose except that they are about an hour away from me.

worth checking? too good to be true?

I did tell him if i trade, i am swapping my retrofit headlights, keeping my wheels/tires,bed mat and bed cover :)

    Your 2013 sounds awesome.
    Why give it up?
They don't do this as a favor for you, they want your money & bait the hook.
    Don't bite! :)

I dont think its worth it unless you plan on taking all your mods off and putting them on the new truck? Even then I don't think it's worth it. You'll be losing money somehow in this deal.

66 months left?? holy F! Oh and it's a sales scam, don't fall for it. Dealers do that all the time to try to get people to come in, either by calling or usually sending a flyer.

Something will change, guarantee. Whether it's the term or payments, dealerships are not in business to break even.
Unless you want to spend extra $ monthly for the same truck, keep your truck.

yea i started with 72 months :), looks like i only have 60 payments left so correction not 66

i pointed out that I am not going to add more months to my payments..if they want to keep me at the same monthly and drop me to 60months even better hahah

oh and i told him i am keeping all my upgrades, like the retrofit headlight, rims/tires/bedmat, bedcover etc.

i know these fools will try to rape you as much as they can so im pretty sure its just a bait to get me there. But unless im leaving with the same payments or less, no way they are getting my truck if i go there

This is always a scam. They want you in the dealership floor, interested in a 2015. They don't need your truck, they don't really even want it. They want to get you in a new truck at whatever cost to you that it requires.

This is a sales tactic that's well known, a Google search would show you that your rare vehicle that the dealer MUST HAVE is about the same as everybody's rare vehicle, 2-3 years after they've purchased it. This is normal, and they're full of shit.

Now if you want a 2015, go for it. But don't think it's any different walking in today than it would've been last year, the year before that, 6 months ago, 6 weeks ago, or 6 months from now.

"they are out of pre owned tacomas"

Right, because a Toyota dealer in one of the biggest metro areas in the US has gotten zero Taco's in on trades lately, and none of the local auto auctions have had any of the best-selling mid-size pickup in 'Merica. Uh-huh.

yup which is why i told him have his team leader call me.

my wife does have family in San Antonio and we were planning to go there this weekend so i might be in the area.

but like you said i cant see how they can give me a brand new tacoma 4x4 for the same payments..no way they can do it unless they like giving free upgrades :D

I am still getting mail stating that my 2008 Tacoma regular cab is in high demand & I could get top price for trade in.
Sad part is I traded this truck in 2yrs ago at a local Toyota dealer.
    Go figure

your 2 year old Tacoma will sell for close to the price of a new Tacoma - you will lose money in the transaction, probably your equity

Bump so you read this. Seriously. Google "Dealer is out of used cars, wants mine" and see what you end up with.

If you have the time and energy to dick around with a dealer who isn't going to actually do you a favor except take your last 2-3 years of payments (equity) and flush them down the toilet while putting you in an additional 5-6 year loan on a new truck then cool, but PLEASE don't think this is anything other than a plan to do exactly yet. EVERYBODY gets these noticed 2-3 years after they purchased their vehicle from a dealer. None are true.

There is a rebate on the Tacoma now. You will be the one to make the best decision for yourself. GO and check it out. What do you have to loose? Good luck.

but i definitely believe you guys. when its too good to be true, its probably not true. at the end of the day, its a business and they are there to make $$$$$.

if for some reason i end up there to check it out, ill keep you guys posted.

I am somewhat in the same boat as you. When I bought my '14 DCLB SR5 V6 about a year ago, I was debating with myself to go DC prerunner, or go AC 4WD (very similar msrp) I opted for the DCLB 2WD. I love the truck and find that my back seat is filled with layers of clothes that get stripped of every day as it gets warmer. I very rarely haul people in the back seat. We have a Camry for road trips. I drive it for work 99% of the time and mostly just me in there. If I was able to trade for a '15 AC 4WD V6 TRD (sport or offroad, indifferent as I don't off road with it), keep payments the same, I would consider it. I am probably going to hold out to see what the '16 looks like and that may help me decide on whether to wait, or go for it.
