We just started getting rain were I am at in Sac. I am kinda thankful it hasn't slammed us as the city yard waste crews haven't done anything here and there are huge piles of leaves up and down the streets in our area.

Jason. Let me know when it starts snowing in tahoe. I might just leave work and the wife behind and head up the hill. The wife has stuff this weekend so she wont let me go.

DAYUMM! Flood city. I guess I'm fortunate my house is on a slight grade and drainage is good. Glad I've been off duty for past 2 days... But that all ends tomorrow. Not lookin forward to the commute, hopefully everyone says F it and calls out sick on Friday.

X2! Saved me a whole day of scrubbing mud!

On another note, I pulled my winch line all the way out finally, it was bound up really bad in a number of places. I'm wondering if I had enough tension when I originally wound it? Anyone with a synthetic line winch have any experience there? When I first wound it I pulled my truck on muddy, slightly inclined ground. Seemed taught enough? :notsure:

When I pulled it out the line was buried under a few wraps and all deformed. Not melted, but squished flat for sure.

I spool my synthetic line with the parking brake lightly set. IIRC Warn suggests you have about a thousand pounds of load when you spool it, which is quite a bit.

Last time I did it - I left some skid marks on the street and tore up a little bit of my lawn

"Not melted but squished flat" (actually, kinda squarish) sounds like my first layer of wraps for sure.

    ...too much shit to list.

Will do Nick. I'm still in Florida for work, flying back in a couple hours. Well...hopefully. Not looking super promising at the moment due to weather. Looks like I may end up stuck on my layover...in Vegas. Darn

Last time I wound mine I put it in neutral, hooked it to my girls car and pulled it against its own weight down my street, it was the second time they seem to stretch a lot and change over time. Let me know if you need my truck for counter weight, the parking lot by rooster run is big enough and I'm free Sunday. Synthetic needs to be wound under tension or it will slip through the layers like it sounds it did.

Tons of fun. Smooth graded but slick muddy roads. Left it in two wheel drive and had fun turning the wheel and waiting for the front tires to catch.

Pretty much the first Xmas tree I've had other than at my parents house. Never cared to decorate my own. Now with a son my wife and I are in the spirit. The tree run was the start of an epic tradition for us! It might even be the scrawny tree challenge  I love how I'd never pick this one from a lot, but in the woods it was perfect! A nice lean to the right with ornaments...

Congrats on the family, BM. :)

We just bought our first house, and are 7 weeks pregnant with our first. Whole new world.

If that's the Safeway lot, there are 9 brothers who decided to kayak down there 'to get groceries'. They talked to them on the news. Pretty funny but hey, if school is closed and there's enough water? Rock on!

The intersection at the tail end of the white truck was flooded. Neighbor and I shoveled all the storm drains and a couple others to get it going again.

This is Calabazas Creek. It's rarely half this height.

And about 15m later. While I was standing there, the dog was trying to figure out how to get into the creek

We should be getting hit again very shortly.
