    Tacoma Hybrids!!!!

Am i the only one that thinks this?

I think it would be really good. They already make the camry, prius and highlander, why not a Taco??

I would totally get one if they made em.

    Eh!

Not sure if it would be worth the added cost. Up front it would add about 5-10k to the sticker price. A big problem with hybrids are the batteries. When they need replacing it is about $3000.I have heard the batteries are good for 3-4 years.

I'd rather have a turbo diesel Tacoma.

I would do a lot for a turbo deisel taco. a lot.

+1 for turbo diesel. I had the privilege of driving a turbo diesel Land Cruiser while I was in Costa Rica and it was fantastic!

I can't figure out why everyone is so crazy about a turbo diesel tacoma?

Anyways, only way I'd buy a hybrid tacoma is if they put the lexus ls 600h L motor in it. Can't beat 438hp:D

Turbo diesel is going to get just about the same mpg as a hybrid, with more power & torque.

a hybrid truck would actually be pretty nuts...esp. if they used the 1GR as a base

    unless..a turbodiesel hybrid...

haha that'll prob. add 10K to the price

My other vehicle is a Dodge Ram with the Cummins Diesel....

I would trade my 09 tomorrow if they offered the Hilux's Diesel option for our Tacomas... Think 25-28 Hwy MPG, gobs of low end TQ and uber long engine life..... Just what our trucks need!

I know this sounds crazy but my big heavy ass Ram 2500 with a 5.9L Cummins gets better Hwy mileage than my Tacoma and makes gobs more power....

I would rather see a Tacoma Diesel thats get over 30 miles to the gallon. I heard 3 or 4 years ago toyota teamed up with isuzu trucked to develop a diesel, but i could wait anymore.

Current hybrid technology is a scam.

You know a 1989 Geo metro will get just about 40 MPG.

What is keeping Toyota from providing that same diesel engine in the US?

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
A scam based on hype, marketing, And people who are to arrogant to do the research.
Hybrid buyers are not saving money. hybrid sticker price, Vs. gas engine sticker price, vs. gas savings are a bust from the get go. As someone else said battery replacment can cost $3,000-$7,000.

Ok, i'll refine my choice of words.

    More ECO friendly??

Less emissions, more power, better MPG. That would be nice. :)
