Diameter speaking will these be identical in same size tire to a Duratracs tire? Looking at replacing some Duratracs in 275/65/18 with these in same size have no rub now and don't want rub lol.

    Hi all,
New member - long time creeper.
Thought I'd start with posting a quick and dirty cuz the new KO2 s 275 70 17s were installed this week. Love the tires so far-surprising how well they hold up on winter condition roads here in Alberta.
My daily driver has BFG winter slaloms and these are deffinately in the same ball park for winter traction. Not the same but close. Guess the new compound and rating is no BS.
Steering input is heavier, not overally. Feels like slighty less roll in corners and general feel is great. Feels like I'm actually driving a truck now(I was running OEM Dunlops prior).
Passing is more of a gradual occasion now unless I hammer it. But as someone else posted in another thread I actually don't mind the more relaxed response because I always found the transmission and programming a little jumpy for my taste.
    Can't comment yet on mileage.

Sorry pictures are bad. Will post more if need.
    Cheers

I assume the KO tires are being phased out? Will BFG release 15" options eventually? Hopefully they release more C rated options as well.

It's possible but as of right now the 285/70R-17 KO2 is coming March 2015.

I haven't seen a side by side comparison photo but according to the manufacturers spec sheets, both models in the 275/65R-18 size are 32" tall and 11" wide (when measured on an 8" wide wheel).

Thanks for your review  I know how brutal your winters get. I'm glad the KO2 is working out for you.

Yes the T/A KO is being replaced by the T/A KO2. 15" KO2 sizes are coming October 2015.

    Long time creep, new member.

Last weekend I installed a Full OME Kit (Check out my post in the OME thread for more details) and Method Mesh rims. I still have stock TRD Sport Bridgestone Deuler tires and am trying to find a good excuse to buy new tires (mine have <15k on them so its hard to justify, even if I do not like their appearance or performance).

The 34x10.5 offering for the KO2 (available in March) caught my attention. I still have stock UCA's and I know people have 285/70/17's with minor modifications.

My question is with a 3" lift, does anybody know if these narrow 34s would present an issue?

these look great with the Bully pro's,
-On Dirt trails (non-mud) I can notice improvement in bite on initial take off and maintaining mid -20-40mph speeds.
-Light rain on asphalt/hwy roads they slip but work better when warmed up.
-aesthetically they look amazing and clean off well (dirt and mud)
-as far as mud performance it is a bit lacking but then again its not the KM2
-noticed considerable loss of control, lack of steering bite, (after a few minutes of light to medium mud conditions, air pressure might have been a factor at 50psi)

Dude 50 psi is way to high. All the issues you mentioned would be moot if you went to about 32. Also idk what your previous tire was but could need an alignment.

It may be my open diff but it was hard for me to get it sideways in the rain.

This is the psi set due to tpms light kicking on when set at 30, ill reduce the psi and reuse them but I don't think the air pressure will stop this from happening...:mad::mad::mad:

An unloaded Tacoma only needs 30-35psi in the. If your tpms sensors come on at 30psi... there's an issue with the sensors. "Correcting" the idiot-light by over inflating the tires by 60% is not the solution. Whoever installed the sensors needs to re-inspect their work.

And now that I think of it... the mud caking on the tires may be to your over inflation...the tires are hard as a rock essentially. They're not flexing and conforming to the terrain... just packing mud in the tread.

Report back when you're at the normal 30-35psi, please. Thanks
