I get VW key...same design as flip key I sold...to my shop on a regular basis. They look horrible and most the spring dont work so well. They flip but seems like they need a little viagra. Thats why I don't like them and I dont want to sell them. Im all about quality and durability.

I'd be interested in one of these. How do I get one for a 2011 Tacoma?

15% off Coupon. Will only work for the first 10 people who use it.

"tacoma" is the coupon without the quotes.

Same problem as you have to press key 5 to 6 times or just twice as two other people have reported to me? This has been reported only in the v1 circuit board.

I need actual facts as then it can help me troubleshoot better. If its only twice you have to press.. the remote must be going into sleep mode(which it shouldn't)...Pressing 5 or 6 times seems unlikely but who knows. Im having pcyc send me his circuit board to see whats going on.

I also changed battery supplier...hopefully thats the problem. Most v1 boards went out with batteries from a different supplier. Dont use them anymore.

I have one of the switchblade style keys (better in the pocket) and also have noticed that to lock or unlock will normally take several attempts. Seems that the range is fairly limited (need to be within 10-15 of the truck). I'm going to try switching out the battery to see if that makes a difference.

My flip style key only has a range of a few feet also. Let us know if a new battery solved it for you. Also, beware, the battery that was in my flip key says EUNICELL CR2016, but it's too thick to be a CR2016, it's really a mislabeled CR2032.

Yes, I have to press multiple times to get any response from my truck. I do have the V1 board so I will try a new battery and let you know if that does the trick! :)

    * just looked at the battery, it's a Mitsubishi CR2023

FYI, I have the flip style key and have had issues with it as well, but I have noticed that holding the button down I get better luck. Still only has about a 15 or 20 ft range at best though. Holding for an update on the new battery to see if it helps. Other than that the key is awesome.

This thread has grown quite a bit so forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but is there any possibility of your all in one key being capable of remote start? I understand remote starts take a lot of work to install and aren't cheap so that would not change, but I just don't want to lug around a big FOB just to have that option. Thanks.

I as well have the V1 the lock seems to be more responsive. However unlock seems to take a couple hits to get the truck to respond. Never thought of trying a new battery.
