Good stuff guys. My running is on hold till 12/15 as our deer gun season opened on Monday. The dogs better get rested up as I am being laid off till April starting on 12/5. Its on like Donkey Kong.

I had a good finish to the early season last weekend. Hunted with my college roommate and his family. His nephew is now addicted to rabbit hunting with dogs after shooting his first one in front of them.

My dad went and put on one yesterday a friend of our started. It weighed around 130 or so. He went out again today and got out ran. I believe going to have to do a lot of walking as they aren't traveling with the amount of food. I walked around 3 miles Monday to get one started and he walked about 2 today till they started.

Ive been running just cant get them treed. I ran one 10 miles today with two of my younger dogs and never did get it stopped. Jumped it right out of the bed. It ended up loosing the dogs going through some rough cliffs and big rocks. Tomorrow doesn't look good so try again next Thursday.

There's so many little bear this year it's crazy. The dogs have to be in tip top shape to catch some of the small bears but your just not gonna catch some of them.

I have never seen as many little bear this year in my entire life! I swear it's like you strike. Bear turn loose and every time it's a little bastard that weighs 80 pounds and runnin like a rabbit. We have ran bear just about everytime we have went and only killed one and only treed one. I would like to get on at least one good one this year.

Had some good luck today. Found a track in a little snow we had this morning. Cold trailed it about 3 or 4 miles and they got it jumped. Crossed and we was able to pack more dogs in took it another 2 miles and treed. Ended up weighing in at 308. Tree photos not the best because I was standing close to the tree when it went up the tree. Was pretty interesting for a couple minutes.

Man that's a nice one! I would give 100 dollars to kill one like that this year. We have a good one found but it's gonna be hard to get on him because of where he's at.

Thanks. Yeah the big ones always are in the hard to go places. First big one I have found this year. I didn't think it was that big by the track in the snow cause it was only about an inch deep and wasn't showing the full imprint.

Keep up the good work guys. Took the dogs down to the club today since it the only safe place to run during deer rifle season. With the fresh snow they all went to hole quick. I was going through withdrawal not hearing a race in two weeks.

Did your dogs cold trail it? We trailed one the other day that walked the weirdest way I have ever seen before. The dog trailed up the mountain, down the mountain, back up the mountain, and finally jumped literally like 300 yards from where we turned loose at. We saw him cross the road and he might have weighed 70 pounds so we pulled the dog off. There's a group that hunts near us that probably has 25 people and 45 dogs that killed a 408 pounder one day then the next day a 377. Somewhere north of buena vista up interstate 81.
