Here is a link to an experimental doohickey that does a pretty decent job of predicting what the radar image will look like 24 hours in the future. Worked outside in it all damn day haha. Rain gear can only take so much. Oh well, found a decent deer shed and saw a toad of a buck. Nothing brings out the deer like wind and rain. They have been frigging everywhere yesterday and today.

 

I hear you on the gear. I used to say the only thing the Army issued me that was waterproof was the brown towel. (they have an anti-microbial coating that makes water bead on them, it's like drying off with a trash bag)

 

My rain gear sucks big time. What are ya'll using? I have a duct taped setup that i stole from the Navy and its on its last day. I mean literally its last day. I need something that wont get cut up so easily on safety wire or etc, and pack nicely in a bag for travel.

 

I'm using Carhartt's thick, heavy stuff. Actually works pretty well, but when you have a timber cruising vest over it and consequently rubbing against and holding water to it, it gets a little damp. Its heavier than shit though. It can get sweaty.

I use Mountain Hardware outerwear, although I have some Carhart gear too. I like the Carhart stuff for cold weather, but it gets heavy when wet.

Might be a good call. Winds of 25 knots with gusts of 31 knots currently, with 2' waves at 3 second intervals. 'Course, you know how fast it changes out there.

 

Shitballs, that's crazy. I was out driving around in 90mph gusts earlier. Traveling with the 60mph sustained wind and driving 60mph I rolled down the window and it was as calm. I could hear tumbleweeds 50' away. Surreal.

 

It got kind of windy in Tigard today. For like an hour. Lights flicked twice but no loss of power. At least at my place

 

I always have a hell of a time trying to find the type of weather information I want like you guys seem to do. Good thing I'm not a weatherman! Best I can do is say what current conditions are ( 47mph gusts, 26mph sustained)
