    As long as your not working in Houston and driving through Houston traffic. I had a R6 and loved the gas mileage. Just couldn't afford the insurance.

    Enduro bikes a great bike for commuting, I would a used xr650 or something in that range

    You can get a nice early 2000s late 90s enduro for about 1000, that would be good for a 40 mile commute. Your mechanically savvy so you could even get an old school cafe racer style bike. I would kill myself with an r6 or something like that with badass country roads

    Used to live in Washington state and trying to figure out how the snow was going to rust it did hear it was somewhere by salt

    Not sure on mpgs but when I use to ride I would get 3-4 hours of riding out of like 1.7 gallons
    That was in the national forest off and on WOT

    Sounds just like my brother. He loves working on cars, has built trucks, had motorcycles and always finds "something" that works. Now he's building a van to live in, probably down by the river, though in colorado, so that makes it less weird.
