    FWIW, the 2005 Tundra I bought has four wheel ABS and it has kicked in three times on gravel roads. I thought I was doing fine braking into some tough patches then the ABS kicked in and I wasn't doing so fine after that. I felt like I would have done better without the nanny. I haven't had the Tundra on snow yet.

    Last time on this thread. If you crash on a road, it probably isn't the fault of the ABS, or the traction control. You screwed it up. You were doing something that physics couldn't stand. No amount of electronic interaction would probably help.

    The people that think only a mechanical LSD works, are... well, wrong. The differential doesn't understand physics. All it knows is which wheel is trying to turn faster than the other. If an open diff with no other controls has one wheel spinning faster than the other, it will send all the power to the wheel with LESS traction. Period. If you have ANY system that controls a slipping wheel, power will be sent to the other wheel. The only down side is you can really wear out the brakes controlling a slipping wheel.

    In other words, am E-diff can be VERY effective...

    If you have NO traction, nothing will really help..

    You are "probably" missing the entire point of this thread.

    It *could be* the fault of the ABS, and when your brakes do fail then, no, you didn't screw up.
