Let's see some CB antenna mounting options

I'm trying to get some ideas as to where I want to mount my antenna, looked thru and founds lots of pics on the 2nd gens but not much on our 1st gens.

This is how I used to have mine. It in the driver-side front corner of the bed.
A little hokey, but worked well.

 

BAMF x3. Looks and fits good, & plenty strong! Worth the wait when ordering.

I use to have my cb antenna on my ARB bumper


I now use a Wilson 1000 magnet mount antenna.
It is on my tool box.
The SWR is way under 2.

 

Four foot Stik on the bumper I built. Great SWR. Doesn't flop around. Doesn't get in the way.



How I built that corner of the bumper to allow for coax connection. I used a 90 degree coax elbow in there also.

 

Can you folks see the BAMF mount/antenna from your drivers side mirror?

 

Not the mount but the antenna yes. It's not a big deal to me, kind of cool I suppose haha

 

Id like to be able to see mine I think, I go through some trails that are half the width of the truck bush wise if I am lucky. So id like to be able to see if the antenna gets caught or not

 

Yea you can easily accomplish that with this mount. I see mine every time it swings around. My spring is stiff enough that it won't fly all over the place

 

What did you guys with the BAMF tailgate mount use to attach the antennae to? My existing mount is too big for the hole that comes predrilled in the bracket.

Also, I'm intending to use a 102" whip

I have the BAMF tailgate mount. I mounted a 4' Firestik antennae to it. IIRC, Jerry will bore a different sized hole as you require. I want to say the BAMF mount came drilled 1/2" antennae hole and I needed 5/8"..or maybe it was vice versa? Sorry I can't recall more specifically.
I really like that BAMF mount, powder coated - a real quality piece of kit. Good luck on your project.

 

Wilson super flex w/quick disconnect easily accessible with a quick reach out the window. Awesome antenna too btw. She really dances and flexes up there Wind kinda bows her back pretty good at higher speed, but no biggie.

 

For those of you who mounted it in the back of the bed, how did you route it into the cab?

 

went through the storage area in the back, like where the jack and tools are. There is a grommet that I slit open and ran it down the tailgate

Between the bed/cab gap, above the muffler heat shield, above the fuel lines, above the driver side frame rail, through the grommet under the driver floormat area. No zip ties needed.
