Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Do you keep it on or off all the time or use it when you need it? I've been keeping it on with mine, gas mileage seems to be better for some reason and I like the feel of it better, feels more snappy with it on which is awesome.

    Reserected from the dead.
I just pushed the button to see if I noticed any change. I couldn't notice any difference in performanc or MPG. So I left it on for the last 250,000 miles.

Couldn't really notice a difference of MPG although many have documented both positive and negative results, just a very sensitive pedal. Turned it off when I realized I downshift manually more often than I let the tranny do it.

I just leave it, it should be turned off when going up and down steep hills/ grades/ towing. You can cohere ECT with it, but again you'll see differences when merging to the highway, stop and go traffic, and for quicker response.

Don't notice much diff in my V6 2002 ,but back on my 87 with the 22RE Auto it made a big diff. I used to turn it on thr run ther mountain and could get 65 up the mtn. .with out it it would constantly be shifting. When I reached the top I tuned it off and kicked off the OD .that gave me a little braking on the downhill side of the mtn. Kind of and auto std shift. .Haven't done any towing with the 2002 yet .but I'm sure in my hilly country it will be an advantageous. Basically all it does is change the shift points to a higher point. so your tranny isn't searching for a gear it likes as often. If ya put you foot into it it winds to higher RPMs b/4 shifting. That old 87 would wind up to 65 b/4 shifting out of second . ~~OBTs~~

I don't use it because I manually shift 90% of the time.
A 5 speed swap is on the list.

Yeah I never use it either. Turning off overdrive seems to produce much better power. I turn off od when getting on freeway or have to pass someone. Or on hills. Even then I usually don't. Mine likes to try and kick down a gear when it's windy or on hills so I just cruise at the sweet spot in overdrive and get in the slow lane or put along at 65. No reason to waste that much more gas to go a few mph faster. But yeah ect just seems to make the gas pedal more sensitive to me.

Automatics sound so complicated with all those buttons that seem to do little or nothing overall :D
