    I read everything in that link above & what is pertinent at this link:
    Utah Alcoholic Beverage Control Act

    There is very little that applies to non-residents who are visiting from out of state & bringing alcohol with them, provided they don't sell/distribute while in Utah. The state laws are geared more towards (deviant) residents. For example:

    "It is ILLEGAL to go to another state, purchase the booze and bring it back to Utah. It is ILLEGAL to receive alcoholic beverages through the US Postal service or any other courier service."

    Just to be on the safe side:

    As long as (we) outsiders aren't directly corrupting/leading astray the locals, it shouldn't be a problem. Kegs may be a grey area though. We may want to use an improvised Zion Curtain as well if containers will be readily visible. Treating the entire state like a USFS Wilderness Area & pack out what (filth) we pack in may not be a bad idea either. Keep in mind that discarded/recycled evidence doesn't require a warrant to be seized & used against you.

    Why give the (potentially) bored LEOs of Grand County, out of state resident (targets) citation(s) for anything that would likely be inconvenient, expensive & probably both.

    For me personally, any hard liquor will be in plastic bottles & beer/hard cider will be in cans since both don't shatter when you drunkenly drop them or deliberately compress them when empty for transport back to Colorado for recycling.

    Again, just my $0.02 worth.

    Yeah, visitors bring in their own drinks all the time. I wouldn't worry worry about it unless you are bringing in cases of stuff, looking like you were going to set up a makeshift bar.
    And on the Zion curtain thing, again no worry. That is for establishments rather than personal stuff. You don't need to cover up your own personal drinks.
    Kegs really aren't a gray area. If an LEO finds one in your possession it will be a problem for you.
    As stated above, just be smart about it is all.

    May I purchase beer in kegs so that I can serve beer on draft rather than in bottles or cans?
    Utah has a keg beer law that prohibits anyone other than a licensed beer retailer from possessing beer (3.2%) in containers larger than two liters. Thus, if you want to serve beer on draft, you will have to obtain a temporary beer permit for the sale and service of beer.
    Once you obtain the permit, you may purchase beer in kegs from a local Utah beer wholesaler.
    Utah law limits the sale of full strength (heavy) beer to bottles and cans not exceeding one (1) liter. Thus, the State does not stock or sell heavy beer in kegs, and full strength beer may not be dispensed on draft.
    Violations shall be punishable by confiscation of the keg, by the imposition of a fine in the sum not to exceed two hundred ninety nine dollars ($299.00), or by being sentenced to serve not exceeding six (6) months in the county jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 79-12)

    but really...buy a lot of cans to bring....


    cans don't break on the ground causing potential flat tires or break in your cooler while bouncing around...

    cans collapse easy taking up less trash space

    cups have a tendency to be left on the ground causing more trash for us to pick up every morning and sunday before leaving

    kegs are great to have, but if it's a huge risk and potential fines and jail time for those caught in possession, may not be worth the risk

    the Keg idea is cool and would be nice but that's a lot of ice to have to buy to keep it cold and it's would be a pita to get one legally. So like I said before I'm just going to bring down a few handle of liquor. Saves space and it will be nice to make an attempt to pack light this year.
