150 miles and my 2015 tacomas passenger rear parking brake cable wouldn't release. Driver side is fine. It smelled bad and was almost impossible to touch even with gloves. I was able to loosen it through the adjustment in the back.so I could get home. Still can't get the cable to move even after removing the drum. And the pedal feels really loose and it doesn't engage or click till its almost fully pressed..Guess im gonna have to take it in. Hope its not the lift or tires that caused this..this is my first Toyota and I hope this is just a fluke.

I'm leaning towards an issue with the lift installation... When was the lift installed?

This past Saturday. The cable looks to be connected in the correct spot. The lift was a deaver mini 3 pack a degree shim & fox shoxs with remote reservoir. Tires and wheels 16x8 method mounted to Mickey thompson 285s. I also disconnected the two spots were it the cable mounts to the spring and frame to keep it from hanging up. Oh yeah and thx for welcoming me to the TTWORLD

I'm with Gearhead, I would throw your stock parts back on the rear before taking it in. It would be too easy for them to say that it was the lift that caused the issue and you would be on the hook for the repairs.

If it was the lift and happened again wouldn't he still be on the hook for repairs? Unless they are just complete asses they should cover the repair. I seriously doubt that the lift caused that unless the cable was bent all over the place or crushed when putting the lift on.

I think that depends on the dealer, although I have had few problems, those I have had were taken care of without any hassle, I am not so sure the OP could not have "messed" up a little, (not saying he did) but you can't blame Toyota for questioning some people who do these mods, remember we are not all as gifted mechanics as we would like to think we are. jmop

I guarantee it has to do with the lift. You can't be pissed at the dealer or Toyota when you messed with the stock ride which was perfect.

Karmatp you were correct the lift caused it! Toyota helped me by lifting it in the air and showing me the lines were over extended. They also showed me were I could disconnect it. Till I can find longer ones. They didn't give me any hassle for lifting it. They actually thought it looks cool. So anyway does anyone no where to find longer e brake cables?? Thanks again everyone..

Its a deaver mini 3 pack aal. Plus a degree shim. And I put the overload spring back on which im thinking of taking off know. I bought the kit from toytech it was labeled as a 3" lift. Don't remember the part # but it was the 2.5 fox coilovers, deaver aal, total chaos uca.etc. all mounted to a 2015 tacoma access cab 4x4.

The two spots I mentioned I disconnected where just so I could install the aal and degree shim. I reinstalled those two spts when I was done!

From what I saw when I got under the truck. the cables have the length but the way there mounted to the frame there set for factory ride height and travel. Im thinking of disconnecting the factory mounting points drooping the suspension all the way the reattaching the cable brackets to there new frame location maybe. Cause I cant seem to find longer versions.
