So I have to ask. Do you have any “break-in” procedures? I see that you changed over to Mobile 1, but is there anything else you do, such as keeping under 2k rpm for the first 1,500 miles, etc. I understand about routine maintenance, but did you follow any specific procedures when you bought the truck new for breaking it in?

Also did you add any aftermarket products to help the longevity of your truck/engine such as a oil catch can?

No break-in. Oil changed to Mobil 1 on day 1 with 60 miles on the odometer. Then normal driving with no break in, just driving the crap out of it from day one.

No catch can or other aftermarket items on the engine.

my 99 Tacoma has over 320K miles as well. Original engine, original automatic transmission. If I don't know how to fix car, it won't go this far. Any repairs will easily excess the value of the truck now.

Very very good to hear. One question, how does this guy go 350k miles on original 2006 converters? Seems like I read weekly a new thread on here about an owner with 80-120k miles that needs new catalytic converters?

Op, what kind of fuel do you use reg or premium? Have you used and fuel treatment products or Seafoam to clean things out often or just lucky?

I changed my factory fill at exactly 1k miles on my '14. Had Toyota refill with Mobil 1 full-Syn as well. I'm at 5k now and will change again at 6k and get an oil lab analysis at that interval, just to insure everything is breaking in correctly.

This /\ I'm curious if he could elaborate how well the paint has held up, same for interior. Interior parts like steering wheels, seat bolsters and material really take a beating with that kind of milage.

I have been worried about the converters, having read all the same threads, but they just keep going and going. No codes.

    I use regular fuel.

No Seafoam. I have used Techron a couple of times.

Paint has held up OK, typical for a 2006 at this age.

The interior has held up fine, with the exception of the drivers seat. I just replaced the drivers seat yesterday, with a low-mileage seat from car-part.com for $125 (and $150 shipping). So the entire interior is in pretty decent shape.

Truck is just under 378k now, photo as it looked this morning.

Will likely replace with 2016 3rd gen Tacoma....hope it is not ugly or I will have to drive this thing to 800k miles!

Just got my new Tacoma on Friday. Now I have a goal to shoot for. My last truck was traded in at 190k.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
You will probably be up to 400k by then! It's been a good truck, I hope to get that many out of mine. I drive all over the state for work so will rack up mileage fast. I'm working 300 miles from home right now and usually have 3 day weekends so I am home every weekend, that's 600 miles a week just making that trip, not counting driving back and forth from the jobsite which is 25 miles each way. Only had my truck a month and already have put 4k on it. Currently has 79k on the odo.

After spending about $75k in gas over the past ten years, I bet you're hoping the 2016's have better MPG's. You're one guy that would actually benefit from a D4D engine swap.
