Ms2 for winter hands down. The zigzag siping is going to give you much better ice traction

IMHO the MS2 seems to be a more all around tire, I have them and used them for 2 years in Pennsylvanian before retiring to Florida, they are great in all weather conditions. they should also last a long time.
Off Road they are not be the best, but they will work just need to take it easy in some areas and engage your brain before engaging Off Road activity's

Anyone have experience with these and Hankook's Dynapro ATMs?

I have had the Hankooks for a year and they do pretty well on ice, but living in South Dakota, and doing a ton of highway miles, I really want the MS2s.

My question is, if anyone has experience with both, is there a pretty noticeable difference or advantage on ice and highway or would you say it is negligible? I ask because I may upgrade before this tire wears out instead of waiting a few years as I don't burn through tires very quickly.

I also don't think any tire would have saved me, but I hit a patch of black ice on the highway a few weeks ago and ended up sideways by the time I got to the end of it going 75mph. Any additional grip is welcome :D haha

    Those AT2s look pretty good.

I think I am going to get some LTX MS2s in P265/70R17 Tuesday. My Goodyear Silent Armor tires have 48,000 miles on them and they are getting rough, noisy, and the tread seems very hard. I don't drive off-road to much and if I do it is on groomed dirt roads.

    Thanks.

I had great luck with them on my last truck, 97 f350 crew cab, I got 80,000 miles from them, and they worked great in all conditions.

Hey guys, just a update on the AT/2's, I have put around 20K miles on them and they are doing great, smooth, quiet and ride good. I had the MS/2's before and also liked them but a like the look of the AT/2's better, I keep mine rotated regularly usually ever 4K to keep them flat and smooth on the front, I run 36 psi in mine.

60k mi tread wear warranty on at2 and 70k mi on ms2... So wear shouldn't a deciding factor with that assurance and backing. Just what tread pattern suits your needs/wants best

A little of this and a little of that.
I've got 27K on MS/2's with my 2011 DCSB 4x4. They look great, hard to tell any wear.
My Dad has a 2004 Access cab 4x4 and he has 50K plus on AT/2's. They still look great and are wearing very well.

Can't go wrong with either model of these Michelin tires.

Picked up some gently used 245/75/16 Michelin LTX M/S2 tires from TW member, OldSkoolArcher (Great guy to work with. Gentlemen) last week. Had them mounted/Road Force balanced yesterday:

Differences, so far, from 245/75/16 Dunlop AT20:
    -wider tread width
    -subtle noise increase
-smoother ride (better absorption of bumps, chassis is more settled)
-increased steering feel (AT20's were nervous feeling)
-increased traction while accelerating from stop, while turning

Everytime I see this thread popup again, I want to say how great these tires are.

Had both types (AT2s & MS2s) on last 6 vehicles since 2007 and presently have the MS2s and they saved my ass again on wet roads here.

The AT2s look more manly, but outside edge nibs wear quickly (while sharp turning on hot asphalt).

The MS2s (look like the tires on your Granny's Crown Vic ) but tend to stop better on wet roads and do better if not off road.

Overall, I have gone back & forth between the two tire models and have settled on the MS2s for my main driving needs. Love these tires. :D

Some more feedback: Got to use the tires in some light snow this morning on the way to work. Nice predictable handling. Used the Auto LSD on a steep uphill turn, 15 mph, 2nd gear... just dug in and propelled me forward. The Dunlops on that same hill usually needed feathering of the throttle, on/off. The M/S 2's just let the Auto LSD do the work.

I've got about 30,000 miles on mine. They are still super quiet and grippy.
I do a lot of driving in VT winters. I think they get a little bogged down in deeper snow (MS2) but I think any tire lending itself to practical all around use would. I feel like the strongest points of this tire are:

    - most grip ive ever seen on a pickup truck in wet / raining conditions
    - highway performance
    - quiet

... ^^^ ... Exactly ... they have saved me several times on wet roads ... so I have paid for the tires several times in reduced insurance costs by missing those (very close call) possible wrecks ... :D
