An 8 cylinder engine. Why the 4Runner can get one and the tacoma can't is troublesome to me.

Or the only other thing is a hood scoop that's FUNCTIONAL!

You would be surprised at how many people come to the dealership asking to see the 4Runner with the V8, find out that Toyota doesn't build them any more (hasn't made them in years) and are outraged because they like the size of the Runner and don't want to go up to a FS SUV.

Well with your other 2 threads on that pos and someone hitting and running on your taco, maybe you will trade it in for it.

Well which system are we talking about? A few people were mentioning cylinder deactivation. Sounds like you're describing start/stop where it shuts the motor off when you stop vs. cylinder deaction that just cuts cylinder use in half under light/no load situations. Cylinder deactivation shouldn't have had any effect from a stop. I had a car years ago with that and you couldn't tell when it was switching between 8 and 4 cyl.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like either system. I think it's a waste of extra tech for negligible fuel economy gains. I know at least with the cylinder deactivation a lot of people had theirs tuned out and noticed little if any mpg drop.

I've only read a couple of pages so I don't know if its been addressed but do any of you feel the interior dash and door panels have gotten kinda cheap? Especially the part that is covering the passenger airbag. If you barely nic it with anything, its permanent. Mine came from a "pizza box" and had a permanent scuff I couldn't remove. Luckily I found someone who could repair it but it cost me $85. Not to mention, I'm worried about bringing my dogs in the back seat because they love to lean out the window, I can only imagine what they would do to the door panel directly below the window. I have a 2014 Sport DCSB.

...give me diesel, manual trans, manual t-case, manual hubs, manual windows, lockers. I can live without the rest.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but a power locking tailgate from factory. Like the pop & lock. It makes no sense that I have to pay $100 for this option after getting my tonneau cover on a 30+ thousand dollar truck. It's the little things toyota!
