    Thanks, yea I did it myself. nothing super hard about it, just time and attention to detail. the painting in the cold weather was a pita though.

    Thanks about the lights. I was really happy with the way they came out. my new all-pro baja bumper should be here this coming week though so I'll be taking it off soon.

    Got my Treadwrights mounted. Found out Les Schwab and American Tire have policies against mounting retreads, but I finally found somewhere that would do it! Broke them in Christmas tree hunting!

    That's the heater valve. Regulates how much hot anti freez goes into the heater core. FYI.

    Why did you have to lengthen your drive shaft?

    yup^ between the lift and axle relocation plates. Rocky MTN Driveline saw my shaft, was inspecting it before balancing it. found that the slip yoke was riding/wearing 1.5" further extended than factory. this means less pressure between all the teeth which allows it to bow ever so slightly.... this makes balancing it impossible. so they cut out the rear section tube and welded in a new tube 1.5" longer. replaced the carrier bearing, both outer ujoints and then balanced it. noticeable difference in the vibes of the truck, especially on the highway. and you can tell the slip yoke is sitting much happier at ride height.

    Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the trails,
    every Jeep was stranded, their progress like snails.
    They had no shovels, no rope and no winch,
    no CB, no cell-phone, to get out of their pinch.
    When out from a mud pit, there arose such a clatter;
    all the wheelers came running to see what was the matter.
    I saw a Jeep all covered in crud;
    he had blown his motor trying to get through the mud.
    As he stood there I noticed his glowing red face,
    and I knew in an instant he wanted out of this place.
    I glanced at his roof, it was all I could see;
    He pleaded for help from my 5VZ-FE.
    So I opened the box in the bed of my Toy,
    and pulled out a strap, said "Hook er up boy!"
    He went for a swim In the watery hell,
    and I just laughed as he cussed and yelled.
    He hooked up the strap to his buried front hook,
    I pulled out the slack just like in the book.
    I locked in my hubs and dropped in 4 low,
    he looked up and said to me, "just take er slow"
    He knocked off his boots and climbed back in his truck,
    then the fun came, time to get him un-stuck.
    I rev'ed up to 4 and then dumped the clutch,
    looked back at his face, he yelled "NOT THAT MUCH!"
    The strap pulled tight and arose from the mud,
    one broke down Jeep, one 4 liter dud.
    All gathered round, couldn't believe what they saw,
    I grined and said "it's a Toyota thing ya'll"
    I could tell he was pissed as he stepped out,
    but he shook my hand, cause that's what it's all about.
    I then drove my Toyota through the same mud and muck;
    no problem for me, cause I got a REAL truck!
    I wound down my window as I drove out of sight,
    and smugly yelled "Next time Stay home Christmas night!"
    Found online figured I'd share, anybody else on Toyotaholics on facebook? lol

    I just spent an hour trying to get my front differential drain plug off. Ended up finishing off what the previous owner did with stripping it out.

    Now I need to sweet talk my roommate into welding a bolt on so I can actually get it out.

    Before that, I did the grey-wire mod (finally after seeing first-hand what the downsides are of the OEM 4x4 locker setup at Hollister a month back) and the "blue plug"/2-Low mod.

    During the whole process, I noticed that I had less than 1/2" between the bumpstops on the lower control arms and jacked the truck up to "simulate" what it should be without worn suspension and with the OME lift I plan to get. Reminds me that my stock suspension has long worn out at 165k.
