So what about the guy he turns around & resells it to for 1/2 retail price, does HE have to leave the wrap on? Why does no one ever see this as the benefit of winning a free car??

Sorry Lucas, just saw this. I don't have a place that is exclusively indoors but I can back into the garage and keep anyone working out of the snow. My father in law has a shop that fits the truck but he is in loveland.
I've heard it doesn't take long to get the DS out, so I'm hoping my garage will be fine.

Travis don't know if I can come up there but just a really important note - mark or note your flange connection points so that you keep the driveshaft U joints in phase. Otherwise it will be a vibration nightmare.

Got this in today. Planning of giving this paint a try. Never used it. Going to start on my frame work this winter. Going to be doing a lot of welding.

    What haven’t I changed?
I'm interested to know how well the internal frame coating works and how easy it is to apply.

It comes with a hose and fine mist nozzle. That is used to run inside the frame. I've seen Tim with the white 1st gen use it. It was pretty cool.

Looks like taking the DS out/off won't be a huge deal, but the walkthrough video I just watched showed some fluid coming out when pulled out of the slip yoke. The video wasn't of a tacoma, but just wondering a. if 2nd gens use a slip yoke up front? and b. will I lose fluid when I pull the shaft? If so, do I need to plan on getting my Tcase and/or rear diff fluids checked/changed after I get the shaft fixed?

Do you happen to have any photos of this being done? Will it be pretty easy to see what you are talking about when I get under there?

Just happened to be under my truck removing the skids....

Disconnect the bolts from this flange in the front

    This one in the rear

drop carrier bearing in the middle

just mark one bolt and it's location on each flange.

    no fluids should be involved.

:D was I at least right? I haven't taken the driveshaft on this truck out, but that's the way I'd go about it if I had to.

I suppose you could take apart a ujoint where the two pieces of the shaft connect and leave the front half in, but that seems like a pain in the butt and I don't know how smart it would be to drive around with the front half still attached.
