Long time lurker with my first post...
I'm in the process of buying a 2015 DCSB Superwhite 4X4 TRD Offroad. My plan is to have a stage 3 icon kit put on it after I get it. I've heard some people say that the add a leafs can give you a rough ride though. I will also use this truck for work/hauling a heavy spray rig from time to time and I'm worried about the add a leaf for carrying heavy loads. Does anybody have any experience with the Icon AAL?
I'm considering scrapping the aals and adding a full leaf pack like the Dakars. I also want the truck to sit pretty level though so I'm not sure if dakar would cause a rake.

Anybody with any experience and or input would be greatly appreciated.

How heavy is the trailer you will haul? AAL should be fine since you have brand new leafs. Get the wheelers HD 3 leaf.

The rig is about 200 lbs unloaded and about 600 fully filled and it will sit directly in the bed of the truck not a trailer. I haven't heard of that leaf spring yet. Is it an aal or a leaf pack? I was actually just reading your thread. Do you know where can I find more info on it?

How often and how far will you be hauling it? I would definitely recommend a full spring pack, you will ware out the AAL pretty quick. I used to have it, it was a bit rougher than stock but not worse than my Dakar leaf springs.

    Do you go wheeling much?

You should be okay with the AAL I was talking about. Its a 3 leaf progressive HD aal from wheelers. I load up about 500-600 lbs of dirtbikes and gear and it handles it no problem. If you arent using the rig every day you should be okay, but you might wanna call Dan @ wheelers to confirm.

Depends on how much you tow. A dakar leaf pack is going to be pretty stiff unloaded, but loaded will ride nice. It just boils down to how often you are going to have a lot of weight in the rear. If it's not real often, I'd go with a progressive leaf pack from Icon, Wheelers, or Toytec. Basically it is a 3 leaf pack that is put in your stock leaf spring setup, and you just pull out the overload spring. A basic add a leaf is just one bent spring basically, and you put it in your existing leaf pack, but they sag over time. A three leaf, or progressive pack is a ton better in terms of ride, and will last. Icon, Toytec, and I think Wheelers progressive leaf spring packs are sold through the Toytec website. Hope that helps. Welcome to TW!

I haul it an average of 5-10 days per month mostly during the spring and summer months
I hunt and fish a lot and I've gotten my "glorified minivan of a prerunner" stuck more times than I care to admit. Ive been stuck in sand, mud, and even wet grass. I'll be using this truck to get me further into my hunting/fishing spots and will probably do some wheelin on the side from time to time.

If you do hard 4 wheeling then with Dakars you would want extended brake lines. What is your budget if I may ask?

If you want a full leaf pack I recommend the All Pro off road expedition pack, they're meant for having a load in your box and are amazing on and off road

Oh then you are good. If you go with aftermarket leafs then you don't have to deal with any of Toyota's recalls or worry about them at all. I love my Dakars and everyone else I have seen talk about them says the same thing.
