What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Dude, gray wire mod is the shit. One of the most useful mods so far for me. Sorry about your diff drain plug, that is annoying.

Edit: excuse for a new diff with lower gears and more rubber??

BTW, mines been like that since then and been fine. Pump is still fairly exposed, and I've always been worried about leaks around the hole I drilled. A 90* fitting would be better than the T-Fitting though.

 

Hmm, I'm using a t-fitting for when I do mine. Bought the stuff to do it nearly a year ago...

 

I just pulled the thing out and threw it away on my last truck. Never needed it

I need to do this too. Filled up my resivoir yesterday and watched it piss out the bottom

 

No lol either the mid/dirt was too thick for it to help or my windshield stayed pretty clear Just never used it

 

Ha! There have been more that a few instances where not being able to spray fluid in conjuction with wipers would have been a major safety hazzard for me.

 

Just different dirt here i guess, it's mostly sand or chunks of mud

Haha I haven't had mine on since I tubbed it. I've just managed without it lol. Just wipe the windows down a bit more often.

 

Do they not salt/ use chemicals on the roads there? I wouldn't be able to see if I didn't have any wiper fluid. The salt/chemicals get sprayed all over the windows from cars in front of you making them a sheet of solid white

 

Sorry I'm a little late on the response, but for those running 285/75R16 and not re-geared, preferably with 3.4L Automatic, would you reccomend I re-gear if I go up to 285s? I don't want my truck to feel too sluggish or be one of those people sounding like I'm mashing the gas and going nowhere like the cool mustang kids around here. I got a few responses and thank you to those who did, so far I'm leaning toward the 285s because it sounds like I'll be fine without re-gearing

 

I went from 265/75/16 to 285s and can hardly tell a difference in lost power. It's definitely there but not nearly as bad as I expected. But I've only put on around 400 miles so far.

 

i didn't have one since i flopped in moab till i made the pvc one haha almost 2 years..

If you don't have a lot of heavy stuff on the truck..bumpers, rtt, ect...you'll be okay without regearing.

Once you become a heavy pig if ever, id highly recommend it. re gearing is one of the best things i have done to my truck. I would have done it on 33s too if i hadn't planned on 35s.
