So I put the clamp on the hinge. Now I want to put 2 Stainless steel washers on the support cable bolts.

What size is that star bit? I don't have any and need to buy one. Thanks

Home Depot has a nice set for about $25 with all the hex/torx/etc you could ever need. Beats paying $5 or $10 for just one bit.

well, I think I've done all I can do on my 2015 to make it harder for someone to snatch and grab my tailgate. I added a Pop'n'lock, a torx head pipe clamp and a locking Undercover SE tonneau which overlaps the tailgate preventing opening. If they want to defeat all those, they deserve the tailgate.

Torx 40 - T40 is used to remove the tailgate strap bolt.

SAE #20 hose clamp used in passenger side corner or you can use the hose clamp with the removable plastic key. I actually have 2 hose clamps over the hinge - one on top of the other.

Also used 2 of these and 2 small padlocks fastened underneath truck. 3/8" cable is too big.

Over on the Technical Chat forum, there's a member who installs Pop-n-Locks. Don't recall his alias. He claims he can take one off in a matter of seconds. For that reason I never bought one.

I figure 2 hose clamps, a washer under each strap bolt and 2 quarter inch master lock cables are going to throw a big enough curve to thwart 99.99999% of tail gate thieves. They are looking for gates that have zero security.
