I sometimes wonder if I should have just looked for an '04-'05 DC Tundra TRD Off Road. Capabilities are about the same on paper (towing, payload), but push either truck to its limits and I have no doubt the older Tundra will do it better than my newer Tacoma.

My 05 Tundra dc was the best truck I have had so. The size matched with the 4.7 was a good combo. If they would of still made that body style I would have bought another one versus the 2012 Tacoma I had.

Only thing that stopped me was how old they are. I do like them a lot (and boy is that back seat enormous!). Only things the Tacoma really has on those older Tundras are looks and resale.

Those Tundras hold their value quite well you would be surprised.

But the Tundra is too large for what I need... My brother has both... A 5.7 double cab Tundra and a 2010?? Double cab Tacoma...I always go for the Tacoma when visiting.

The 1st gen Tundras really weren't a whole lot bigger than the current Tacomas. It's the newer ones that really grew.

It's not uncommon for an official picture to "leak" of a new automobile before it's official release. That happened a couple weeks before the Colorado was released. I am hoping we see some full body pics of the new Taco soon too.

I'm all about getting better mpg, but a battery powered truck is going to be nothing but problems. Trucks are supposed to be simple and reliable.

That will probably happen in Colorado. All the manufactures do their high altitude testing there and someone is bound to see it and snap a photo.

I live in Wyoming and actually saw a GMC Canyon being driven on the roads last February. Well before official launch. I think new Tacoma is gonna look good!

    1) Wyoming is beautiful. Bighorn Mtns and Devil's Tower are amazing.
    2) A 4Runner guy came across them shooting the 2014 publication shots last summer before they were shown. Hopefully the same will happen here.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I had a dream about the 2016 Tacoma last night, they released another photo of the backside and side of the truck, it looks a little more square with bulged out fenders like the 4Runner. But, it was just a dream so who knows. Guess we'll see.

Fenders in the picture that was released already look very similar to the second gen, so I'm not holding my breath.

Trucks are suppose to be simple yet people complain the tacoma is out dated and needs new x, y, and z because thats what the competition has. Interesting :p
