This fills weird to do in my own build but

I can say this, trying to keep it to a minimum but do 3 link and keep it strong I'm having a extremely hard time staying below 8 grand...

 

Aaaand that's why I sold my Tacoma. Too much $$

 

Had a great time at wind rock, didn't break anything and did some pretty challenging things. I'll post pics on that later.

On another note I'm very impressed/pleased with my Coleman fridge. I decided to put 4 pounds of dry ice in it Friday to try and help it out as much as possible. And the climate has been cool, but 4 days after the dry ice and I'm still pulling out powerade that's half way frozen solid. For the price I paid for it, it can't be beat and for the length of trips I do I think it'll be just fine

 

I guess I stand corrected on the fj80 axles.. I wheeled with a third gen this past weekend on fj80 axles and 42" pitbulls. He said the only issues he's had is ring and pinion. I posted a vid on Toyotaholics of him crawling an 8ft wall.

If your lucky maybe 800 on a set of tons. Prices range from 600-1200 or so on a set on tons. More than likely 2 grand in parts for the axles. Gears, seals, diff covers, brakes, etc. Then probably 200 on the swap kit in the rear and then another 200 or so for the front. You will have to redo your front hanger to the wider 32.5 inch spring perch of most one tons and then get the offset shackles from sky. (I have set of shackles if you really are going tons, had them for the 4Runner and obviously don't need them anymore).

 

Alright so don't shoot me, I've been thinking about the perch width difference. I would probably do the front like you're supposed to for stability but if I just moved the rear perches to fit my existing springs wouldn't that have the same result as inboarding?

 

Do you need them 14" travel shocks?

 

You still have them?? I actually just bought a pair from Chad for the front but I was thinking about picking up a set for the rear too

The rear would need the perches moved in more than likely. It'll have a similar effect as inboarding the springs. Since the axle is so wide and heavy it will flex to the moon and back. Big up side to one tons.

Oh Yeah! plenty of trails for anything from stock all the way up to rock bouncers on rock wells. Litterally, we saw a large group of them.

On a build related note I will be swapping power steering pumps, inner tie rod ends and outer tie rod ends.
