Didn't take me too long :D

Now what I could offer is that with the manual ADD control I did leave the front ADD engaged to see what kind of effect it had on gas milage and between two tanks of gas it was hardly noticable. If I have another actuator fail on me my plan is to just lock the ADD in the 4wd position and call it a day.

Haha! U-boat commander! Yeah, I do like driving through water. I never drive through water that's higher than the bottom of my doors but I have 5"'s of lift so it's pretty deep water. Now, I will NEVER drive through salt water. Even when I take by dad-in-laws boat out (and not even my wheels go in the water) I still rinse off the whole rear of my truck with fresh water when I get home. Hopefully fresh/muddy water won't be an issue.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the link!

That's what I was hoping to hear regarding MPG. Wear & tear is probably unnoticeable also.
But, is the rest of your 4WD system working as it should?
Any lights on that shouldn't be?
What manual ADD control are you referring to?
    Thanks.

Yes, I got rid of the 4wd computer ECU though and opted to use the FJ cruiser t-case. When I want engage 4wd I just shift a lever now. All the lights still work on my dash as they should.

    Nice!

That's an awesome mod! What did you do with the ADD actuator? Is it still installed or did you eliminate it completey?

It is still there, controlled by a momentary DPDT switch.

Yeah it's not bad, I engage the ADD when i want to wheel for the day and disengage it at the end of the day. This way when I switch between high and low gears and 2hi/4hi the actuator always stays in the same position therefore minimizing wear and tear on it. If you are interested here are the controls I made

    I made this
    ADDWiring-1_zpsd87987d0_bab0ab54550e6feda9d2feb18599a256ec2fa597.jpg

    Based on this
    ADD_Schematic_a095ce5ec1c1ded330d6fbc7b3b54d5d9f4ec70a.jpg

This is what controls the ADD now.

Same theory as the locker anytime mod. Toyota uses the same junk type motors and limit switches on the ADD as they do on the lockers in the tacomas, 4runners, and land cruisers.

WOW! Nice Job! I love the passenger eject button. Subbed for the future!

BTW, Did yours go bad or you just decided to do the changeover to avoid possible future issues?

    Thanks

Thank you. I had the transfer case actuator go bad so instead of paying Toyota $800 for it I swapped in the FJ case. Although the ADD actuator is still there and a problem that could fail, I'll continue to control it with the switch until it lets me down. I had emailed posi-lok a while back to see if I could eventually just do away with the electronic motor until I can get a solid axle under my junk.

Awesome man. I would definitely alpreciate it if you let me know what they say. I'm literally going to use your info as a guide for when I get my 4WD.

    Thanks!
