Bah. Thanks. It took a while to find a brute smaller than 32 ga. Found a 20 ga (as you mention) that is 19.5 dia 22+ H. Fits the bill.

I need to seal around my faucet base (to the sink surface) and also around the perimeter of the sink where it sits on the granite. Water drips into the cabinet when the base gets splashback.

Any tips of what product to use for both of these things, and how to remove the old stuff without damaging the countertop?

Razor blade to remove the old. I don't know what caulking is the best for this application. If you used the stuff I use all the time you wouldn't ever get the sink or faucet out again without destroying it

You mean remove and replace the sealant on sink/faucet right? I replaced the faucet with a new Moen unit and tightened the plastic nut to just before I felt like it was on the verge of exploding, and the rubbery/plasticy gasket for the new faucet base isn't keeping splashback from seeping underneath and dripping into the cabinet. I scraped the mineral deposit off that section before installing it and used CLR to clean up the remnants.

You're saying I should disco the drain pipes from the sink and remove the sink from the counter top, then scrape the old sealant off, drop the sink back in and reseal the edges?

Hopefully I'm not missing something.. appreciate your help Josh.

What would you do with it though? I can't think of an application that I would need that.

If it comes off without damage to paint I could see it's use for layout for picture hanging or similar but that's about it

There is a similar product that you can stick onto cut off saw fences

Sounds like more of a pain in the ass than anything. I'll stick with a tape measure and level.
For guys like us that deal with measuring daily, it might be ok (this product), but in the hands of a house wife or non handy guy?

I am not a carpenter but I agree I don't see much use for this in that trade. It comes in handy when you take photos of something and you need to show how long/wide etc... it is in the pic maybe a crack etc... This is especially useful when you are in a confined space, or a vessel and trying to hold a rule steady with one hand and taking photo with the other. Maybe something overhead etc...or something kind of round kind and use it like a Pi tape I guess.
