Hey guys quick question... so I'm lookin to get some new wheels. But in the past I've always bought used and could test fit before purchase(so never played attention to BS or offset). Well I wanna order a set so I need to know what kind of back spacing I need to be lookin at? Wanna run 8" wide wheel with up to a 12.50 tire. Wheels I'm lookin at are 4.25" BS and figure that would work but want to confirm with you guys!! I don't want em sticking outta the wheel well more than necessary, just need enough BS to avoid any interference back in there.

ALSO!! What is the hub bore size I need? I have manual hubs so i need the large bore. Is the 108.2 what's needed??

Thanks guys! Love the info in here !!

    Nobody??

What do most of you wheel guys shoot for as far as back space running a wide tire? When do you start running into issues or rubbing, 4.75"??? 5"??

You are asking a question that has been awnsered....countless times. Thus a slow response.

For 12.5" wide tires, you will need 3.5" or less back spacing to keep them off the frame while turning. Stock is 4.5" and also 7" wide so you'll need new rims no matter what.

Yeah I found lots of info but seemed EVERYBODY had a different outlook on the subject, thus the common question.... im not lookin to run stockers, I mentioned looking at ordering new ones... seems most people run a deep backspace and its kinda hard to find wheels with less than 4.25", am I lookin in the wrong places? Idk? Its kinda frustrating me trying to find wheels that don't look stupid then trying to figure if they fit or not and on and on...

I think you have the numbers mixed up in your head. The smaller the number for back spacing the further out the wheel sits from the hub..or the "deeper" the rim looks.

    You want less. Not more.

You can get away with 3.75" if you have to but 4" is more common and you might just have to settle with running wheel spacers. Many do this including myself.

Thanks for the info!!! I got the sizing figured out as far as a smaller back space is what's needed. I was just mentioning that it seems most run a deeper BS(larger number) so I think this was frustrating me but also I think most of the time spacers were being used. So you could see where my confusion was coming from...guys running a larger BS number claiming they fit on the truck but forgetting to mention the use of spacers......so blackdawg I need a 3.50" BS minimum with 12.50's to not rub correct? And pretty much anything more that that I will run into rubbing issues?

Also I think your right about having to settle and just use spacers. Every time I find a set I really like they aren't the right size(not enough BS)...dang it!

A good way to go is just get 4" bs wheels and 1" spacers. You'll ne rub free for sure then...well..rub free from the frame and UCA. Not the pinch weld

I have a six inch lift and run 33x12.50 15x8 currently....but I've always bought used rims with a test fit, so I don't know what my BS currently is. I just want black rims these days. Guess I could take the wheel off and measure for the BS instead of being lazy. The same size as I have now would be a perfect fit...just need that BS measurement, the BS isn't listed on the wheel either already checked that out a while back...
