I don't know if anyone considers this but power washing may not always be the best for components. I was a bicycle mechanic for a long time and we saw people who power wash their bikes going through components much faster than people who wipe down their bikes. Reason being is that they were actually blowing all of the grease out of any lose ball bearing hubs, and things that had sealed bearings and delicate dust seals were almost worse. In my opinion power washing displaces small delicate seals, and either blows the grease out or lets dirt and grit in causing the insides to deteriorate faster than normal. I would think that the struts would be lightly greased to prevent corrosion but you may have washed away all of your protection.

    Just a thought.

Ive let concrete dry on my Icons, then power washed the ever loving shit out of them, and they were fine. Ugly, yeah. But worked great. Letting them sit is MUCH worse then abusing them under use.

I'm just curious why he would call out ICON in a vendor thread when he's clearly in the wrong....

Seems he's been dealing with Icon for a while now, and they have been bending over backwards to help him. OP busted his rear shocks, Icon fixed. Rears "blew out" due to "Too much oil", and Icon fixed it.

OP, if Icon screwed you, then that's one thing. They didn't, and in fact, seems you tried to pull one over on them by lying about the terms of acquirement of these shocks. Not only am I closing this thread, and eventually deleting it, but Im moving it out of their section. Icon has been all sorts of helpful to you already. Icon has helped many many members on this site, myself included, and anything that has been brought up, legitimately, has been delt with. Personally, I bet if you told them straight up at the beginning, things would have been different.

SO...In closing, if there are any questions regarding my decision, please PM a member on a random site, not affiliated with this one......Or PM Tigerfan.
