They put out ads for contestants "willing to tear up their rigs". So most of them ran out and picked up junk rigs to tear up for the show.

That's kinda dumb. It doesn't feel like a real "offroad show"

I nearly fell off my couch when he said that. The show will be remembered for this mans quotes. So far we have:

"I have more problems than trees." & "I haven't seen a line this extreme since the 80s."

This man is quickly becoming my favorite. :D

Wow, I'd like to know your source. :D

At 4wheelparts, they range from about $420-$508/ea for a 37" Bogger depending on wheel size and load range.

(of course, I remember back in the day paying about $350/ea for a set of 44x18.5 R15 Super Swampers. The price has risen drastically since then, especially since I paid $318/ea or so for my 33x13 R15 LTBs.)

i wouldn't be surprised if after shipping a full set of 5 37inch boggers ended up close to 3k shipped up to alaska. 4wheelparts list them at $534cdn each right now..

I have been watching this show, and the idea seems good. But, the people they picked for the show are so annoying. If I have to hear on more audio peaked woowhoo in a cab, or another "get you some", or a fake bleep to add color to the show, I'm gonna mute it. Plus it is starting to feel like a contest of atrition.

They were the only ones stupid enough to get on a reality TV show.

Sucks that the Rover is out. Was actually cheering for them bc they weren't as redneck. I'm cheering for Pete and Shey now - the other non-rednecks :D

I think, maybe, that the people on the show were told the one who has the loudest, most often used, catchphrase gets their own spinoff show if this one makes money. All the discovery channel networks continue to surprise me with this race to the lowest common denominator programing sometimes. Entertaining? Yes, but maybe they could have shown how they buit the trucks. How they navigate. Maybe, being on the history channel, they chould have tied this tangentially to the alcan highway building in the 40s.

Or maybe I just expect too much and am just tired of waiting for new Top Gear...... xmas special is just days away.....

Not necessery, its a trail that obviously somebody uses. You supposed to clean up trail after yourself because next guy driving there in Winter in dark may not see it and end up pinned on the thing. So dude in Rover had valid point.

I'm glad the rover is out, just because its a rover. I like the pig the best, just because its a pig. My pick from the beginning to win was Pete and Shey, they have a good strategy. I do wonder what that noise was in the end of the last episode though. Seemed rubbery, but who knows.

Allowing for recorded audio distortion, it sounded similar to a fragged Ujoint to me.

I think the driver's are the normal ones and then the producers found some loud/weird person to be the copilot. Most of the drivers seem normal.

Or according to the dude..."we got a rock in the hub"

You mean, the rotor? Though, my first thought was it was the sound of a tire rubbing on something, looked like the bumper. Rocks in the brakes/rotor sound a lot different than that. But they never seemed to expand on it.
