Not sure what cross bars your running but I have the black upgraded ones and I found that 1/4 20 stainless carriage bolts fit the slots perfectly. One of the reasons went with the stronger bars is so I can use slots on the bottom for mounting stuff (like a camp table. reverse lights, and a few other goodys under the bars)

Can't wait to see it. As I move the RTT to a more permanent position on my trailer I will be doing some new stuff to the the Toprac like you have mentioned.

if you look at first section of pics on the OP you can see that the antenna sits right under (judging as well since the OPs truck is a 13 as well )

I don't actually have the antenna but the rack is slightly taller than the antenna. The rearmost crossbar will have to be shifted lightly forward to accommodate it but they are compatible.

Box arrived today Zach... laughed my ass off at the box!

Now to figure out how to run all these goodies and a pelican case full time. Got some brain work ahead of me...thanks again for everything!

The rotopax boxes ended up being a perfect fit rather than cutting down my standard box. I use a lot of recycled packing materials as most people have probably noticed.

Excited to see what you come up with.

This should give you a start:

Zach, I installed my rack this morning. I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed! The rack was easy to install, sturdy, and exactly what I would have built myself. But I'm not going to try and reinvent the wheel when you've already perfected it. I chose to just remove the rubber strips for now. Maybe later on down the road I'll take the time to punch holes in them, but I don't have time for that right now.

I have to say that I liked the look of my truck before, but after putting your rack on it went to a whole new level. I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as I can.

For anyone on the fence about buying one of Zach's racks, quit waiting and just do it!

How much stronger are the HD bars compared to the standard ones? I honestly don't see myself putting much up there besides a couple kayaks and some camping gear and I don't think they'd be necessary. Maybe just a couple extra standard bars would work for me?

There is a significant difference. If I were to stand on the center of the standard bars (180 lbs) there would be significant deflection and the bar would hit the roof of the truck. With the HD bars the deflection is maybe 1/4". I can stand right in the middle of the bar without coming close to the roof of the truck. That being said, the chance of you having a point load on one of the bars that is 180lbs is slim.

Either would work fine. I carry my roof top tent on my toprac that only has standard bars just fine. It is all about dispersing the load.

I tell most people to get the HD bars for one reason. If you want the rack powdercoated I include the HD bars. Why? Because 1 standard bar is ~$17 and to powdercoat it will be another ~$15-17. Total would be roughly $34. The HD bars come with a black anodized finish which is just a good as the powdercoat on the bars in my experience and is ~$35. So for the same price you get a superior product with equal coating, more TSLOTs for accessories, and better weight capacity.
