Hey everyone. Just bought a 08 PreRunner trd off road package and noticed some rust build up on parts of the engine. I have been searching the forum for rust problems but have only come across frame rust issues. The frame on my Tacoma looks great but the engine has some buildup that is starting to worry me. I will post pics when I get a chance, please chime in for some advice. Thanks.

What about the bolts on the engine? Looks to be more then surface rust.

Quite often this is the result of a used car dealer cleaning the engine bay with a caustic solution. This usually leads to rust on the steel parts and an very oxidized appearance to aluminum.

After reading over the nightmare frame rust issues I almost shit myself but the frame looks to be good. There is some rust on the bracket from mid pipe to exhaust. Should I take it in and get the frame expected.

It only has 75000 but from what I've been reading that really doesn't matter. So my question is do I try to get the rust under control or just let it be?

Wash it well and when it's dry wipe the frame down with used motor oil on a rag, or you can buy the anti-rust snake oil they market for this, but it's just oil.
