Who needs some motor mounts for their 4.0? Got the first set done tonight

I'm still pretty fond of my leaf sprung truck but to each his own!

Everyone's reason and situation is different. For me I think if I were going to chase a linked truck, I'd probably be looking at ditching my Tacoma and going full size. I am pretty happy being able to race the truck somewhat competitively right now in 2000/7100 and links totally changes that dynamic.

The day I link my Tacoma is the day I'm done with the 3.4. So to be honest for me personally, I think if I decide I have to have a linked truck, it would probably be easier for me to sell the Tacoma and start with something new than keep bastardizing the Toyota.

It could be that I lack a lot of skill behind the wheel and I will readily acknowledge that. But I will say that after having raced the truck twice now, I personally have a long way to go as a driver to be able to push the truck with leaf springs to it's limit. And until I can do that, I don't really have a need to add even more to the truck.

Bottom line for me, I'm still pretty happy with what our leaf sprung truck with a basically stock 3.4 is capable of.

 

Thought the goal was to race it in 2000? What's the plan now?

Might have to bug you about one of those one of these days. Roughly middle of the priority list for our truck at this point but something I would like to explore in the future. I know Jeremy Henderson recently got his truck hooked up with a sway bar. Will have to bug him to get some feedback.

Just trying to nickle and dime that last handful of performance upgrades I think we can rationally make on our truck. Besides the driver, of course!

At the risk of looking like a "spammer", just wanted to share these two FB pages in case any of you are interested in checking it out. About to make a few modest changes but the Class 2000 page will focus on the leaf sprung truck class in SNORE/MORE and the Class 7100 page will focus on the "new" BITD class as well as 7SX in SCORE and CODE/RECORD.

A lot of cool races coming up in 2015 and some great opportunities to get involved in racing with a fairly "modest" investment.
