you may run into a situation where they have periodic lotteries for tags to hunt within the city when the population gets too high...

i know they do that in parks near me where hunting is normally prohibited

It's different from place to place. Usually the bigger the city the more the answer is no. My cousin and I have a permission from a private land owner to bow hunt on 120 acres in between 2 neighborhoods inside the city limits in Auburn AL. We have been bow hunting it for 14years now. Game and Fish gave us the thumbs up and just told us to be very discreet. Same guy has a piece in Birmingham near the Inverness area where I lived for a few years. Game and Fish told me no on that piece. Just depends...

I'll tell you this... It is some of the best hunting around. Especially if your not picky...and we ain't picky back there... We have killed a few good bucks but have wore the does out. I've driven in and seen does in peoples yards while driving through the neighborhood. Slipped in my stand and same group of does comes bebopping through. We've killed coyotes and bobcats too. Kind of crazy so see a coyote coming down the trail and your only 100yds behind someones house and can hear there kids playing in the back yard.
