Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Mud inside the engine is really bad, you probably wont be able to get it all out without major problems. The 4.0 is tough, but not indestructible to things like that. Good luck OP, sorry to hear what happened, that really sucks ass.

Just grab like 8 industrial fans, disconnect all the plugs you can, and run those fans all over your car for about 2 days. See if you can fix what you've done, if not, hit up the insurance. Shit happens, and some of the people on here are grumpy ol' farts who like to talk shit. At least nobody got hurt. Hope you get everything figured out OP

    Agreed.

This may have been done in stupidity, but i probably would have done the same thing. Personally i like to think im a fucking genius.
How many people do water crossings here or jump there shit?

EDIT: OP never even brings up insurance.

Cranking the engine without spark plugs installed should have been 1st thing.
Problem is if water got into the combustion chamber is it doesn't compress so when you crank the motor it destroys parts like rings and pushrods.

I wonder if OP still considers purposely driving into a flood "FUN". And FWIW an Insurance company CAN deny a claim if damage was intentional. This is the same as purposely driving your vehicle into a brick wall. They have a duty to pay the lienholder for the Fair Market Value, but that's it. Any equity in the vehicle would be forfeited.

Exactly. Poor kid f*cks his truck up and you have all these hard asses saying he deserved it, you have another guy saying he's a criminal, and yet another guy saying he deserves what he gets because everyone's rates go up. Laughable

Good on those that offered some actual advice, to those that were jerks get off your soapbox because no one cares.

As said, pull plugs crank engine to get any water out of the cylinders. No cranky, new starter, crank now. Change oils all oils. Air bags aren't going to work when you get the passenger seat bottom wet. How many lights on dash when/if started?
