I peel back the seal and apply up inside where the seals mount up inside the door frame - it's not on the outside where the window goes up into the channel.

I do about the 6 inches from the corner along the top, and the top six inches up the back side.

It stops the noise for about 6 months...

I've had my window seals and door seals replaced and still squeaks. Then they gave me stilicone lube to put on my seals. This still hasn't fixed the noise. It will fix it for a few days but then comes back and the silicone makes a huge mess on my door seals. Is there any door adjustments I can make.

you can adjust the access cab doors completely. the procedure is written up in the repair manual in pretty good detail. im sure the double is covered too - it must be?

this is an adjustment issue, on my access cab the passenger side does not squeak, but the drivers does. i can see that the doors are adjusted differently. passengers is tighter.

i intend to adjust mine when the weather warms up. if the passenger side, which closes tighter, doesn't squeak, then the drivers side can do it to.

I went to the dealers and they schmeared it with silicone, worked for a few months, but thats just hiding the adjustment issue.

at one point i just grabbed the door, and tweaked the top inwards. you know, pull out on the bottom and push in on the top. this stopped the squeak for a short while as well.

i'll post up some day after i adjust if it work...well ill post if it doesnt work too.

I had this problem on a minivan years ago. Instead of a liquid or paste lubricant try good old corn starch. It acts as a powdered lubricant. It fixed my problem but I and to dust the seals every so often.

    This stuff isn't cheap...

I've used Silicon Spray and the fix lasted a couple months. The sound is driving me nuts....So, how long does this stuff fix it for?
Trying to weigh out if it's worth buying a tube or not.

    Hi all,

Wanted to see if anyone has had any update on this door seal noise issue? I had a 2013 DCSB with the issue and now my brand new 2015 DCSB has it. I saw a thread where someone mentioned a possible forthcoming TSB from Toyota:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/341962-anyone-driver-door-rattle.html

Driving me crazy. Have tried the tape solution (still occurs) and will try the 303 / silicone over the weekend. Hoping for a permanent solution.

    Great forum. Thanks!

I washed my truck about 3 months ago....I also cleaned these weather strips with wet towels then I sprayed these weather strips with Armor All rubber cleaner I have on hand th and wiped them off (more like massaging it into the rubble). NO MORE squeaky noise. Give it a try.

Have that squeak too in my '08. Had it since Day 1 right by my ear in upper corner of door. Dealer would say, "What squeak?" I figured it would go away, it didn't. Tried waxing, various protectants, cleaning, etc. - still there. Will try some of the silicone stuffs recommended above but worried it will create that "black grease" substance that gets on hands/clothing and doesn't come out.

I've tried everything that has been suggested to fix this, none have been 100% successful. Some have been temporary, others have reduced the noise but not eliminated it.

    So far I have:

    • Waxed the door jambs with a synthetic wax (CorrosionX Rejex), which I always do when I wax the truck anyway
    • Tried silicone, 303 Aerospace, and even Einszett Gummi Pfledge on the seals
    • Tried to adjust the door strikers
    • Fed drip line tubing into the door seals, both the one one the door and the one on the body
The drip line in the seals on the doors completely eliminated the noise, but it started to come back after about a month. Not as loud, but still annoying. I just did the seals on the body the other day, which seemed to quiet the noise back down, but still not completely eliminate it. I expect that it will slowly get louder again over time.

I have a 2014 DC and I heard this noise since day one and it drives me crazy. My squeeking issue is with the inner window seal(towards the upper corner, about ear height) and has nothing to do with the door seal against the frame. While driving the squeeking noise gets worse over bumps and if you push in on the window seal, the noise goes away.

Anyway, I took my truck in for my 5,000 mile service and the first mechanic who took it for a test drive, as usual, he heard nothing. I took the senior mechanic for a test drive and he heard it in the passenger window and he told me he wasn't sure if there will be a repair for this. After returning to the dealership he found out that this is common on the new Tacoma's and they have a repair for this. I took my truck back a week later and on day 2 of it being their, today 12-17 a Toyota rep is coming out to complete the repair and show all mechanics how to do this repair. I was told that Toyota is well aware of this and they expect a lot more people to bring in their trucks complaining of this noise. I will update this when I get my truck back and I hope the annoying noise is gone.

Not hiding anything really. Rubber seals over time will dry out. Dry rubber will squeak against a painted metal or plastic surface. Door seals should be cleaned just as often as the rest of the vehicle, and inspected for dryness. If they begin to get dry, then the need to be treated with a light coat of silicone spray. Been this way for some 50 years.

The problem is that the seals r not real rubber. They are synthetic rubber. Toyota changed my seals on the window runners and door seals. Its the door seals that are the problem. They put some talc powder on my door seals (the synthetic ones) and this noise went away.

This may not be the answer u r lookin for but what it comes down to is this synthetic rubber dosnt merry well with paint.

Yeah, you are right that it is a synthetic rubber. Actually ALL rubber is synthetic since it is not a naturally occurring material if you think about it for a minute. lol. Talc powder is a good idea for lubrication, but I never did like that it sometimes leaves a white residue.
