Hi all. New to this forum, but it has already helped me a lot. I have a '95 Tacoma with 176,300 miles. My first Toyota. I have had it about 2 years & have only done oil changes, air cleaner etc. So I figured not knowing what PO had done (except timing belts-stickers on for that) I would change all the gear oils. Got them all done, along with greasing all the zerks on the driveline. Also new plugs and fixed the "brake light on" when the parking brake is released thing. The tutorials on here are great! I have some parts that need replacing - latch for the sliding rear window, handle for the hood release cable, small parts (don't know what they are called) under the headlights - stuff like that. Is there a place you all reccommend for parts? TIA Stan

    rockauto.com - period, hands down

for what you cant find there you will have to go to the dealer because nobody sells them

For best quality and reliability, buy OEM parts, whether the local dealer or online (toyotapartszone.com). RockAuto.com is good, I use them for non-critical parts.

For body parts and trim pieces, I'm pretty sure you are stuck with OEM, either new or pulled from a wreck. I enjoy scrounging parts from pick-n-pulls, but in my area they are hard to find for any Toyota trucks. Another advantage, is if you pull a part from a truck with the same factory color, no painting is required :D.

When it comes to brakes and such I buy it from Amazon. With prime I get it in 2 days and comes out to be cheaper than rock auto because they charge so much for shipping.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I buy everything I need from my local O'Reillys auto parts store. Buying OEM is good if you have deep pockets, but you can find other products that are just as good for half the price. I would love to buy OEM but refuse to pay highway robbery for it.

You have to be look around for prices when you can. I got Wagner thermoquiets for 28 at Amazon when Oriely was close to 70. Auto zone was 60.

if I need something asap I will go to the local parts houses but if not I use rockauto or Amazon. One thing you need to watch out for on rock auto is the shipping, on some parts the shipping gets spendy and once you add it up its sometimes cheaper to go to the vatozone etc.
