Nice, but I want a turbo 2.7 in the 300 HP neighborhood. Ford is on their A game with these turbo engines.

I don't understand the 3 piece window argument either... My dad's 198X Nissan pickup he had when I was a kid had a 3 piece rear window w/ slider.

You guys know the current Tundra is still a second gen? So yeah this "all new Tacoma" is about to be balls deep in whatever chance of profit Chevys Colorado had.

I meant to say I'm hoping that's the outcome.

So... If they would have just dropped the 4.7 in the same truck in 09 that would have qualified as 3rd gen? :notsure: I'm almost in the camp of "if I can swap more than 30% of parts between them, they're the same gen". I really have no idea though

I want one of those 4.7 4runners. A rare breed they are, like a unicorn. Majestic.

    Flippin sweet! Mind blown!

A power slider would be kinda cool too. My tundra DC sr5 has one.

A 6spd without stupid gear ratios would be nice. I miss my 6spd sometimes but don't miss the terrible highway gas mileage, i felt like it needed another gear.

A guy I work with used to have one. WOT my boosted truck is quite a bit more powerful, but cruising along on the interstate it had plenty of power to get out of it's own way...

Look at the picture. The 2nd gen and 3rd gen are 2 different trucks. I don't know why no one can see this. Are they similar in ways, yes but there different. Everyone is acting like they just put a new motor and drive train in the second gen.

But who wants to buy a truck and pay for it.
then need to go pay for it a second time to build it into what a truck should be.

lets see how your boosted truck holds up to the Hellcat Ram......

I can. Im just playing devil's advocate. Im not believing anything until I see the official release in a month. Im sure I'll hate the new body style but it will grow on me. Im most interested in powertrain anyway and I refuse to believe anything until Toyota tells all...
No one does. If my truck wasnt underpowered IMO I definitely would not have spent the money and boosted it. Sure is fun though. I never said my truck was fast either haha. Its slow as far as boosted tacos go and there are NA X-Runners that are quicker... ill admit I like to tinker, but there are plenty of things on the road that can outrun it.

Okay I joined up just to post this pic of the front end :) Can't wait to see the whole thing. Looking to maybe upgrade from my 4Runner.

EDIT: I see a 3rd gen forum was finally created, so obviously I'm late to the party posting this haha.

If you cover up the Toyota emblem, it looks like the front of a RAM
