Might be a good excuse. They have the trade mark and I can't fault them. It's their intellectual property.
I know. I remember being at talons and seeing him use the plasma to Jasons. I was surprised by how heavy that piece he cut off was.

Does anybody know of any write ups on changing the clutch/throw out bearing on a 2nd gen v6... If not I'll make one but itd be nice to have something other than just the repair manual.

I haven't seen a write up, but I have done it and swapped the tranny a few times. Pretty easy.

    1) drop drivelines

    2) remove bell housing bolts (top two are a mfer, need like 3' of extensions. I think they are 14mm.

    3) disco the wires and breather hoses connected to the trans and transfer case

    4) remove t-case x-member bolts

    5) slide the trans/t-case back about a foot (it is possible to just slide it back and have enough room to do the clutch, but you can do it the hard way and remove the exhaust and x-member and totally drop the trans too)

    6) remove the bolts from the pressure plate and remove old clutch

Put the new clutch in and center with the plastic alignment tool.
You should resurface the flywheel, but sometimes you can get away with just scuffing it up with some sandpaper if the surface is smooth and doesn't have grooves. The Throwout bearing is self explanatory, but you should get the URD TOB upgrade, the stock one sucks.

those cutoff wheels can do the job but its a rather long process and they wear down quickly. I did it for small jobs to enlarge or add mounting holes.

There was a whole shit storm over on TTORA about it.

They "trademarked" the two piece kickout slider. I know that they sued Jason DeMello and won.

    http://www.fjcforums.com/forums/general-discussion/10253-metal-tech-4x4-vs-demello-please-read.html

I consider it really shitty business practice; essentially sue all of your competition in the midst of your own personal sales dwindling. Looks like a lot of things got deleted from forums. I dunno, it is what it is I suppose.

went through a few pages, this is normal business practice but nevertheless kind of retarded for this kind of industry, being sliders have been around for some time. Its like apple suing every phone maker that makes a metal phone that is rectangular in design :/

MT decided to make a few bucks with this lawsuit at the cost of their reputation, which in my books is a very poor decision.

Wow thank you man! I was going to replace with the URD TOB and I was thinking of the URD stage 3+... What do you think? I've also heard good things about marlin crawler...

I don't know how you drive, can't tell you what clutch to get. How many times did you hit the rev limiter today? If the answer is more than three get the URD 3+. It's more of an on/off button than a clutch. It doesn't slip, so you have to be really careful in traffic and slow speed stuff. It will also make your clutch leg tired in stop and go traffic, it's a lot stronger than the stock one. That said, you can bounce the motor off the rev limiter and step off the clutch and it won't slip. Marlins would be better for the trail for sure, you're on and off the clutch all day on tight trails, and would be fine for "normal" person street driving.

Our freshly emboldened Oregon politicians are going to do the same thing here. The bills are already written. Register to vote, or they will make us all a bunch of felons before long.

Great that's what I needed to know. Think I just got kinda caught up in the glorious URD website and started thinking I'm a racetruck  Definitely want something more trail friendly.
