2000 Tires and Door plate

    2000 4x4 Manual Reg Cab
    Just got a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 and the door plate shows 225/75r15 as the tire size.

    Current tires
    Front 265/75r15 Wild Country XTX
    Back 265/75r15 Goodyear Fortera

    I know the 2000 had a larger tire option, but would the door show the original tire size?

    I'm considering getting 225/75r15 Firestone Destination A/T, would they provide better wet and snow traction then the larger tires?

    Generally, the door plate only lists the standard tire the vehicle comes with. It doesnt list the optional size. Personally, I would stick with the 265/75/15 size. :)

    There isn't as many options in 265s. I might replace the Goodyear Fortera with Wrangler SilentArmor.

    A 31/10.50/15 is the same as a 265/75/15....You may want to check that size.

    I have a 2000 Xtra cab, 4x4 and the stock tires are 31x10.50x15. I'll be replacing them with 32x11.50x15 in a month or two.

    How would I know the recommened tire pressure if the size is different from the door plate?

    Anyone running 265/75/15, what's your PSI?
