Just purchased a 96 2wd reg. cab. Would like to switch out the 14" wheels for 15" wheels as 14" tires are a little hard to come by plus I'd like to get a little higher off the ground. First of all is this even a possibility and second what have folks been using. I've tried a couple different salvage yards to no avail.
    Thanks in advance.

Yeah of course it's possible. Just look for 15" 5 lug wheels....?

The offset of a wheel is the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel to the true centerline of the rim. A positive offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is positioned in front of the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This in effect brings the tire in to the fender well more. Conversely, a negative offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is behind the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This will cause the tire to stick out away from the vehicle.

H = High Positive or FWD (Front Wheel Drive) typically +45,40,35 offsets
M = Medium Offset or RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) Typically +20 offset
L = Low Offset or RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) Typically 0 offset

well not as many brand choices maybe but I wouldn't say hard to come by.

perhaps if you are talking offroad truck tires maybe but M+S tires are readily available in 14" size for cars and light trucks at most tire shops.

what kind of rims do you have? do you have pictures? I might be interested in them if they are 5 lug 14" rims because I have no trouble at all finding tires for my truck and the 14" tires are much cheaper then the 15's
