After several months of "chasing the dime" and this past week with a couple of near misses I finally got hold of the truck I have been trying to get. After searching over about 6 states I finally got it at my 1st stop (my local Toyota dealer)..they were not expecting to get a Tacoma Pro this year as they had gotten 2 Tundras and had a 4 Runner coming, but there last allocation sheet had a Taco on it. My contact got hold of me and wanted to know if I was still looking as I was #1 on their list....they ended up selling it to me for the Truecar Quoted Price of $38,268 for an Inferno Double Cab Auto with Factory Tow Package (msrp 38,950) not a huge discount, but with lots of dealers jacking the price with BS add on's and "Demand Premiums of 2-5k" it was nice to get one at any discount. Still have to wait about a month as it will be built on Dec 2nd and my dealer says they usually get Tacomas in 7-10 days from when they are built (so much for the 6-8 weeks I had some dealers saying it takes for delivery). I had one coming to another dealer that would have been about $700 cheaper, but Toyota ended up sending them a Black one so I passed. For those looking for the Factory Tow package, it seems Toyota is finally sending out quite a few with that option...most of the early ones did not have it.

Good to know that the tow package finally is added from the factory. Congrats. I would pick the TRD Pro 4Runner but that's me :D

6 in one, half a dozen in the other. The process from order being placed to truck being delivered usually takes 6-8 weeks. The process from truck built to truck delivered is about a week.

    Congrats on the new truck.

If I was looking for an suv I'd go with the Runner also. More comfy and I spend a lot of OR Time in an 80 series and love it. Would be nice to have one of each!

You might get it sooner. I ordered mine 9/1 and was told it would be built 10/9 then delivered between 10/20 -10/24.

I got a phone call 10/8 saying it was built on 10/6 and would be at the dealer 10/9.

Congrats OP I hope you get yours sooner than expected

It has been so much work getting this thing, that I'll be happy with it whenever it arrives! Been a long 4-5 months and way to many hours at the computer trying to find one with Factory Tow. I've bought a lot of vehicles in my life and never had to work anywhere near this hard to get one. When I bought my Tundra I did the research...went to the local dealer, told them what I'd pay and about 2 hours later drove off with the truck. In a way, I'm glad it took this long as I wasn't sure about the Inferno color (some pictures look like what one finds in a babies diaper)....finally got to see it in person and for me at least, this is the only color to get if buying a pro...it is simply awesome in person. So for all those folks still looking, don't give up hope...they are out there, you just have to work to find them. Also, there are dealers who will actually be pretty fair with you. No huge discounts off msrp (I got about $700 off), but you can find them without the big tacked on extra mark up. Don't get frustrated, just keep looking...they are worth the wait!

She Lives! Just went in today and did the real paperwork on the new truck. It was built yesterday and they finally had a real VIN #. Supposed to be delivered between the 15-20 of this month so she will be here for Xmas! Wasn't sure of the exact price as we had settled on an OTD price. Ended up MSRP with Tow was $38,950 and purchase price was $38,091 so they knocked about $850 off of msrp. 2015 TRD Pro DC Auto w/ factory tow Inferno.

For the TRD Pro's at least it is a great way to get one if you have a dealer who will let you in on their allotment list. I didn't "order" my truck, the dealer in my area knew what I was looking for and they just happened to get one assigned by Toyota so they called me. I locked in the sale and a price before it was ever built and didn't mind the wait to get what I wanted. If I was looking for a standard TRD OR I would have bought one off a lot and not waited, but the TRD Pro DC with factory tow is a pretty rare bird so I was happy to "Buy it and wait"....Local dealer who I have bought trucks from for 30+ years so didn't even have to put up a deposit....simply filled out the papers and will give them the $$$ when it gets here.

Got a call today that my Pro was in and I could come and get her! Did the all important "DO NOT INSTALL THE FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET" Mod before she got there so no holes in the front bumper. Took the Huskey X-Contours with me as it has been raining here and put them in before it left the lot. Took a few pics, but should have done it when I first got there and it was still light out as the Sodium or whatever they are lights at the dealer make the color look terrible. Only have about 25 miles on her and have to work tomorrow so won't get to figure her out for a couple of days. Managed to get the radio working and find my way home in one piece so all is good for now. Checked the normal stuff, Bed is on straight etc. Only issue I found was one of the metal clips on the outside rubber window seal is mangled a bit, but the dealer is going to replace that. For what little I have driven it, I really like the truck. Will be glad when I get the Shell though as it does ride a bit stiff in the arse when empty.

Killer Truck! I wish they made it in spruce mica. It's awesome you got it so fast, when I ordered my 14 DCSB TRD OR it took almost 2 months. But it was well worth the wait. Was your truck built in Texas or Baja?
